Grace Lutheran School

Awful experience at this school. I felt unsafe around teachers and was regularly mocked infront of the school for misunderstandings. The teachers would make false accusations about students stealing and saying inappropriate things to teachers. If you tried to challenge those accusations the administration would just label you as a problem student and do everything to get rid of you.

This is our first year here after transferring from a charter school in Largo and both my kids absolutely love it! All of the teachers and staff are so kind. You can tell they really care about the students!

Please change the start time to be later! 7:35 is way too early for elementary kids!

I have 3 children that have been going to Sexton Elementary for three years now. Two of which having disabilities. The office staff including the support team for children’s with disabilities goes above and beyond to ensure the comfortability and education of the students is their number one priority. They connect with their students on an emotional level getting to know each one personally to aid them in success. They have small class sizes which helps the teachers focus each individuals needs. My children have had the highest test scores having been going to this school. If you’re looking for a good family-friendly school, Sexton will definitely fulfill that for you and your student(s).

My daughter is only in second grade so I haven't had enough experience to really decide how stringent the academics are. Sadly, if you live in St. Pete there are very few good schools to choose from. There is no sugar coating it, Public schools in the area are flat-out bad. The other two private schools nearby are over $25k/ year. This school is more reasonably priced and from what I understand is better academically than the public schools. I can see a big difference in my daughter's friends who go to better schools in Tampa. The technology, math, and science here seem to be severely lacking compared to highly rated schools in Tampa Bay. I'd overall say this is a step above the public school options though.

Everyone I know who went here had a terrible experience. They are not there for their students.

This is our third year at St. Raphael’s, and we honestly couldn’t be happier. We transferred in during elementary school and were immediately welcomed with open arms. The sense of community here is amazing. Families are involved because they want to be, not because they have to.Our kids are excited to go to school every day, which says everything. They know almost every student, and the staff knows them (and us!) by name. It’s clear they care about each child as a person, not just a student.The teachers have been wonderful, and academics are strong. Annual test scores are always above the diocesan average. The school has also invested in security, which is sadly necessary these days, but very reassuring.I love that it’s one school from VPK through 8th grade, so there’s no big, stressful transition in middle school. The waterfront campus is beautiful, and there are so many extras for my kids like choir, theater, clubs, sports - you name it.They also take a smart, balanced approach to technology: no phones or smartwatches during the day, teaching real-life skills like typing and Microsoft Office, and even reading The Anxious Generation as a staff.Like anything in life, you get out what you put in. As parents, we've made the choice to get involved by volunteering our time and partnering with the school to support positive growth. We do it because we truly love the community and want the best for its future.
