Read what parents are saying about Entz Elementary SchoolWe have four children in Mesa Public Schools and Entz is the best of the best. When you walk in the door you are greeted by the friendliest staff. When I say friendly they can go up against any receptionist, secretary, etc. They really are so kind and get done what you need to get done. The principal is so great and very down to earth. When you speak to him you know he is sincere about his care for your children and family. We have also had wonderful teachers while attending Entz. Your child truly is their number one and not just academically, their emotional well-being as well. Even with all the Covid-19 business going on, Entz has not missed a beat...my kids have always been a priority to the teachers and the whole staff priority. It has a wonderful sense of community and everyone feels welcome, Entz is a rare gem.
Posted by a parent on 1/15/2021My child has been at this school for almost three years now and she has had amazing teachers every year. All of the teachers/staff I have encountered have been caring and helpful. The principal is personable and effective. He is hands on and the kids love him. Such a great school in my opinion!
Posted by a parent on 7/20/2019My child has attended this school for several years now and we've had nothing but wonderful experiences. The principals, educators, and office staff are all amazing - not only do they go above and beyond to help students, they are also kind and helpful to parents. The campus is always clean, the classrooms are huge, and there is always a friendly, exciting atmosphere. I consider myself so lucky to have my child attend this school.
Posted by a community member on 9/13/2016I have had 3 children attend this school, one is now in Poston and the other two are still there (for now). We moved from another public school in Mesa and we were pleased with them. Since going to Entz we have had numerous bullying issues, with a principal that will not address them, and the culture of the neighborhood is one that unless you are 'in' your kids will not be able to easily develop lasting friendships. Most of the teachers have been there 20+ years and honestly need to retire. They have lost their passion for teaching and just do what they can to get by. When it came to parent/teacher meetings each of my kids teachers said they weren't needed and 'let them know if you want to talk anyway'. I work full time, it's not like I can be there everyday to see for myself so I rely on the teachers to communicate any issues to me. There are some great teachers and I will admit that their GTP program is amazing for my son but the overall impression of this school is not what I would call favorable if your kid is a 'regular' kid. i.e. not IEP and not GTP. They also are horrible with communication to the parents.
Posted by a parent on 7/16/2014Sorry to say this school is not what I expected. My child's teacher was below par, and my child now hates school because of this teacher. I am very disappointed in the way my child's education was handled and hope that the school pays closer attention to children that are not in the top 10 in the class. Outside of my childs class, I did like the school. They were helpful and nice, other teachers were friendly and smiling. I think we were given a dud.....

We moved her mid-year and our daughter has been THRIVING in academics and socially since we arrived. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA certain un-named math teacher constantly yells at students and discriminates against students of color. My husband and I met with the principal about our concerns and they were ignored. We are pulling our children asap.Parent Review6y ago - O'Connor Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt was a great school before the new principal took over (Dr Tinich) in 2022-2023. Now since she started it’s so strict, I had one of their staff members compared it to boot camp. The new principal took away access to the playground in the morning, no snacks allowed during breaks, no recess for 6th graders but a 10 minute break, etc. It’s gotten really bad since she started, so many staff members and students left. I tried addressing a bully incident with the principal but she just shrugged it off… it’s terrible. Hopefully they get a better principal because imo she’s ruining the school. It’s no fun there, my kids don’t enjoy school as much anymore because of her.Parent Review6mo ago - Pilgrim Lutheran School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy family and I moved to Mesa a year ago and found Pilgrim first as a preschool. We immediately fell in love with the teachers and staff as well as the other families who attended. It's safe, clean, Christ Centered and super affordable! It is located behind an iron Gate which requires a code to get into. The children of all ages treat each other with respect and Grace. My child was in preschool and yet the "bigger kids" were always saying a friendly hello to her and encouraging her to participate in their big kid sports on the playground when appropriate. I am highly impressed. If you are looking for a Christ centered school that is affordable and safe, look no further.Parent Review5mo ago - Evit - Poston Junior High School
