"We dont Have a dog park but I believe we are getting one. I have three dogs and a big yard so I’m lucky in that aspect but would love somewhere to socialize my dogs."

"Easter Egg hunt for kids. Very involved Halloween activities. Sports activities and festivals. Christmas church breakfast and fire department activities open to all . These are all free and the kids enjoy every moment of it. "

"Not bad area, but floods really badly even during only moderate storms. Parking is also a bit hit or miss."

"We need better transit. We live at the end of the A line, which is the longest subway line in the City, that goes through Brooklyn then downtown Manhattan before going up to the Bronx. We need a direct line into midtown, or real rapid transit buses, otherwise LET US DRIVE!"

" l live here 15 years (minus the 5 years I evacuated). I enjoy the water and seagulls. A very cozy town-an island - in between Howard Beach and Rockaway Beach. I found a dog cafe at 3101 Vernon Blvd, Long Island City where everyone drinks wine and eats as the dogs mingle. Forest Park has a nice dog run.... Friendly town where everyone says hello. ***** 5 stars"

"No doggie park. You have to walk your dog on other peoples property. The sidewalks are shared with cars."

"No dog park, there aren't any grassy areas to let your dog run around. They are not allowed in the children's park. "

"Broad Channel is a small town in a big city (NYC). We are a small community on an island in the middle of Jamaica Bay with views of Manhattan. A third of the island is inhabited and the other two thirds are a national park."
  • Jessie C.
"I've lived in Broad Channel for 11 years and I feel like it's been my home forever! I love the small-town neighborhood feel. Kids run around like it's 1956, drop their bikes where they land , and pick them up later and continue to play! Neighbors are always watching out for neighbors and there's a real community camaraderie present. I love Broad Channel!"
  • Pat K. C.
"Most neighbors are involved in community affairs. Everyone is familiar with neighbors from other blocks, homes are well kept, "
  • Diane C. F.
