"A lot of community groups in the area. People get involved with beautification projects, planting flowers in the park twice a year. It’s a family neighborhood with small and large families. Diverse community that lives in harmony. Neighbors say hello and are friendly. I’ve live in the area for over 50 years. "

"You’re in the center of Queens between Main Street and Queens Blvd. Transportation is readily available and it feels like you’re in the suburbs. Perfect place to get away from the city but still be in the city "

"No near by parks. No green spaces for your furry family members to enjoy. It does seem to have a big community with animal lovers but nowhere within the neighborhood to actually enjoy having your pets play and interact with others."

"It’s a safe and quiet neighborhood with many families in the area. We don’t know how well the school is because our children attend one near their daycare provider. But I heard it’s decent. The children and parents in the neighborhood are pleasant. "

" I have never attended a community event. I dont even think they exist. The neighborhood is very quiet and never any parking day or night, weekday or weekends. The community needs to build a municipal parking lot for the community."

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do not recommend this school for special education students. My child went from being excited to attend school to not wanting to attend since starting PS 117. The special ed teacher yells at little ones. Once I found out this was happening I spoke with the teacher and escalated my concerns to the principal. He did not acknowledge me. It is as if the special ed population is an afterthought....borderline neglect.Parent Review1y ago15 Reviews - St Nicholas Of Tolentine School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve been at this school since kindergarten. Now I’m a 8th grader and this is my final year at this amazing school. I’ve learned a lot and how the community grows in faith. However this school is unfortunately closing forever, it is very heartbreaking knowing that this school is a team and family. Take one thing away from this is that if this school reopens again I would recommend this school. I will be going to Townsend Harris High School. Love you St Nicks!Student Review2mo ago64 Reviews - Jamaica Day School of St. Demetr

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a wonderful school. Excellent teacher to student ratio. Caring nurturing and safe learning environment. Extracurricular activities including a performing orchestra, dance, drama and Art just to name a few! The Principal is very approachable & addresses any concerns no matter how big or small head on! We love St DEMETRIOS Jamaica Day School!!Parent Review12y ago12 Reviews - Growing Up Green Charter School II

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePoor leadership, no real communication with families, high staff turnover at all of their schools. The elementary school is located in a very unsafe location (in close proximity to a mens shelter) I do not recommend anyone bring their student to Growing up green, do your research and go elsewhere.Parent Review2y ago4 Reviews
