"There are many parks and recreations in this area. It used to be very safe but the last few years more crime is happening spontaneously. Teach your children to seek help at a home if they feel they are a target for criminals. There are still good people in the neighborhood."

"We enjoy this neighborhood. Each house is as unique as the families that occupy them. small businesses stay in business here and you can tell neighbors do what they can to keep them in business. "

"The neighborhood is fine if you think about it that way, but with some crime a few blocks away it doesn’t make us feel comfortable raising our family here."

"The commute is convenient. I’m minutes away from the 3A, 3B, 62, and 65. I have multiple options to choose to get to work. "

"The BLOCKS are so DARK @ NIGHT. Looks like there are only 3 STREET LIGHTS to a BLOCK. Maybe put @ least more STREET LIGHTS OUT. ALLEYS are DARK just as well. Other than that, I live on a GREAT DIVERSE BLOCK! CLOSE to the THE SCHOOL."

"It can be quite noisy with the fire station near by and cars driving by. My dogs often bark because of this. Other than that it’s a good neighborhood for walking the dogs. "

"We've live in the neighborhood 13 years. We've gotten rid of most of the rental on my street. Rentals tend to bring the worst people. I know my neighbors on a first name basis and regularly get together. The neighborhood is very diverse and we love it."

"I'm currently the homeowner, and have lived in this home for almost 10 years. There's a lot of heart and history in the North End, and I have appreciated the diversity and how easy it is to get to the busline, light rail, stores, highway, restaurants, parks, zoo! I'm ready to find another home in a warmer climate, and would love to sell my sweet home to someone who would appreciate it."

Made BIG mistakes and did not take responsibility for their mistakes but instead DENIED it. Absolutely unbelievable! 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagethis school is has a wonderful learning enviroment even though every classroom has a bully in it the teachers are now working harder on stopping that. my child has special learning classes because he has dyslexia and he says that they are really helping him. my other child is in all advanced classes and she has math, reading and science pull-outs. overall this school is a very great place for your children.Other Review15y ago3 Reviews - Community School of Excellence

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to CSE for two years and sadly graduated from there as it was the nearest school to me. I took various classes that I would call extremely lacking, especially when it comes to the electives. Math itself was pretty great, the teacher taught well, especially as it was the hardest math class this school offers (Pre-calc), not only that the Government and Economy teacher was pretty great as well, I learned quite a lot. However, these teachers have favorites, I may or may not have been one of them, but I see how they treated my classmates. Teachers mostly favorite the female students due to a higher amount of school effort, however this has caused resentment to build up amongst the boys. Due to favoritism, the boys began to talk bad and bully the girls, blaming them for things that they did not do. The principal was okay, she tried hard to implement rules--- although, many students do not like her, even now due to the extreme no phone policy. Many boys have tried and are still trying to get teachers fired, however in my personal opinion it is because they lack the effort to try in school. The admins of this school are horrible, they do not try to get the students to engage in classes, rather they prefer to have them engage in performative arts such as the Hmong New Year and even International Day. I believe that if this school wants to be better, they must first address the known issues rather than ignoring the students and making things worse. Overall, this school gets a 4/10, its teachers are what makes it more "alive". Please, if you want your child to grow up with an abundance of education, do not enroll them here. There are no programs other than PSEO to help them.Other Review6mo ago24 Reviews - Maternity of Mary - St. Andrew School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school was a wonderful school to grow up in. From the time I was a five year old child to the time I was a 14 year old it was and still is a fantastic school. Mrs.Quast and Fr.Williams are both fantastic people and school leaders and my siblings and I could not have dreamed of going to a different school.Other Review12y ago4 Reviews - St John The Evangelist School
