"There are parks and fields nearby. Many bike paths and walkable areas. In our neighborhood, there are small lakes with paths around them, so lots of walking available. "

"There are nice neighbors, but people tend to keep to themselves and mind their own business. I’m a female and I go about errands and etc by myself. For the most part, I’ve always been okay. "

"Growing arts community and vibrant family owned businesses are a staple for this neighborhood. It makes sense that people are moving here because homes are inexpensive and there is a lot of potential. "

"A little rough. Bad streets, lots of crime. We hear gun shots regularly. Lots of people in poverty. Many people on our block don’t have cars and use shopping carts to go get groceries from the near by Cub."

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love Community of Peace Academy. All three of my sons have attended this school, and the attention and care they have received is amazing. The teachers are very experienced, and many of them have been at the school for 10+ years. This school really values relationships and peace. Of course kids have conflicts that come up, but the school teaches them conflict resolution skills to work through it, and when a kid gets in trouble, they are expected to right their wrongs. One of my sons had some behavior issues when he was little, and even though some days he was breaking rules multiple times (like, double digits), the teacher still treated him with kindness and gave him the chance to grow and improve his behaviors. Neither I nor my son ever felt like the teacher was mad or disliked him despite his challenges. The patience, love, and unconditional positive regard is so evident at this school. I also felt like my kids were challenged academically. For example, my middle boy was an early reader, and the teacher provided him with individualized lessons to help him grow at his own speed. I highly recommend this school.Parent Review5y ago3 Reviews - Life Prep

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI wouldn't be able to recommend this school. The bus frequently goes by our house without stopping, causing my daughter to often miss the bus. We frequently receive bogus letters about her missing too much school-only missed two days in an entire year or less! In addition, they have the students sharing lockers... it's no wonder she keeps getting headlice! Anyhow, save yourself a headache, don't enroll your child in this school.Parent Review9y ago13 Reviews - Hope Community Academy

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL. Horrible experience there. So upset with the school, principal Nicky Napierala and their special education staffs. The school system and their principal there is a joke. My daughter was not a normal child. Her brain process things slower then normal. Suspending her everyday mean less time for teaching and learnings. She's missed all her IEP class and sessions that was paid for to the school. I felt really bad for my daughter at the time that she need their help the most but they threw her under the bus and ignored her disability. Know wonder why the school had a high suspension rate for disability students. I'm glad I took my daughter out. The school was horrible, students at this school is graded at below level. Find a better school for your little educators, not a school where kifs are falling further behind.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - Faith Baptist Christian School
