"ne very careful with your kids in this neighborhood. I wouldn't trust letting them outside by themselves because you can't trust anyone or there cars because they speed and don't watch for anyone. "

"The neighborhood is very noisy with a lot of street noise and sirens. I have found a number of syringes and vape cartridges on the ground in the park. "

"Most of the houses in this area have small yards. Not ideal for larger breeds of dogs. But there is a really nice dog park near Battle Creek. "

"Very diverse and a lot of people in this community. Sometimes you see people helping people but not very often. Everyone usually goes out and about to tend to their errands. The people in this community are friendly and you can meet a lot of people!"

"A lot of the homes are young families who have bought from older people, so there is a turn over which is making the neighborhood young again. The majority of people want to get to know each other and the park ways are beautiful and the recs are great for children and families. I feel a sense of community in my neighborhood."

"There are some festivals held at the lake during the summer. Since there are schools nearby, some events hosted by schools occur there. Sometimes random events pop up at nearby community centers. "

"Ample access to public transit and a short drive to three major highways. Also will be easy to get around once the Gold Line BRT is instituted."

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFrost Lake is a hidden gem of a school! Some of the best school staff I've ever met. We had two children attend there. One who required intensive accommodations for mental health disability. The school works so hard to build an inclusive and welcoming community for not just students, but also families. Both our children were treated with care and respect. Our daughter is a 6th grader now and wanted to go back to visit the other day. Her second grade teacher instantly recognized her and was so warm and welcoming. She even asked if she could come to one of her volley ball games!Parent Review6y ago2 Reviews - Hazel Park Preparatory Academy

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTerrible school. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE! They feed them week old food, same thing every day, the food is inedible some days. They teachers are rude, and uneducated. The science teacher is not a science teacher. The "baccalaureate" is not in fact a baccalaureate. my kids went there for 4 years and never learned any Spanish while taking it every year, or music either. They think putting on a movie in Spanish is teaching. The teachers are mean, uneducated, overworked. They do not grade papers, They do not correct the kids when they get something wrong on an assignment, which in turn makes them learn NOTHING. My kids are so far behind after spending years there and i feel so bad for the kids still remaining in that school. It needs to be shut down. Contact the superintendent if you haven't already if you have kids attending this school. This principal needs to be held accountable, and where is all the funding going? it is surely not going into the school at all. Also they do not have security in their parking lot. They have an older teacher directing traffic and no one even asking for proof of identity when picking up the kids. don't even get me started on the front staff. DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE.Parent Review3mo ago3 Reviews - L'Etoile Du Nord French Immersion Lower School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLNFI is a great school and community. The teachers are dedicated and passionate about their students. Interns from native French speaking countries offer the students more time and attention. The community of parents and family is phenomenal! I feel like we are getting a private school education for free.Parent Review3mo ago3 Reviews
