4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't understand how such arrogant, rude, and overbearing people can be principals in schools where there are so many children and where they know they have to deal with many problems. My daughter is being bullied at school, and today, for the second time, there was another incident with the same girl who bullied my daughter before. I went to Tayac Elementary School... the principal practically treated me like a criminal and told me that I was endangering the children and that I couldn't be there unless I had a clean record. It makes me so angry that being Latina doesn't mean we're criminals... all the children were leaving through the hallway, and I told my daughter that we should wait for all the children to leave so we wouldn't be in the middle of them, and Principal Latonya started calling me practically a criminal, dangerous, and a threat... when at no point did I even say a bad word or raise my voice for her to insinuate such things.Parent Review3mo ago14 Reviews - Waldon Woods Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school and its teachers/staffs are very good and cares for the children . I see that there is a lack of infrastructure and require upgrades in the cafeteria . The cafeteria/stage and equipments looks like a run down school with sounding window ACs gives a bad reputation to the school. the teachers and Principal Mrs.Abubaker is doing an excellent job.Parent Review9y ago6 Reviews - Outreach Christian Center Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRun. While some of the staff are wonderful, there are two that belittle students in front of their whole class and complain about students wasting their time when they are the ones going on and on and berating them for one little thing. They'll search their backpacks for things like makeup and phones so they can make a big deal about it, they have found pads and held them up and told everyone that those need to stay with the nurse (in front of like everyone), and they really seem to care more about "distractions" than the students' safety. A few years ago, a student was talking rudely about the size of a girl's chest and I don't think he even got suspended. They also lack a qualified music teacher and a qualified Spanish teacher. For at least the past five or so years, the Spanish teacher has simply been a person who speaks Spanish and prints out words searches for the names of fruit, and there have been a lot of Music teachers, too, but they're usually qualified, unlike this year. If you have a gifted child, don't bother with the Learning Enrichment and advancement Program (Leap); It's just extra homework. I'm removing my child as soon as the year is over.Other Review2y ago28 Reviews - Independent Baptist Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average1 out of 10 — A Deeply Flawed Environment for LearningAs a concerned parent, I feel it’s important to speak honestly about our experience at Independent Baptist Academy. Unfortunately, this school has fallen far short of providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for learning. There is a noticeable lack of commitment to students’ academic growth and personal development. The curriculum feels outdated, and there is very little individualized support or encouragement for children to thrive intellectually or socially.Even more troubling is the clear presence of prejudice within the school culture. Not all children are treated equally, and there’s a pattern of favoritism and exclusion that directly contradicts the values of fairness and compassion. Students from diverse backgrounds are often overlooked or marginalized, and the leadership does little to address these issues—even when concerns are raised by families. If you’re looking for a school that genuinely supports every child’s potential and fosters a culture of respect and growth, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews
