"This is a great neighborhood. I feel save living here. Great to raise a family and live in this neighborhood. Schools are great and you have a great area to go out to eat having several restaurants close by."

"I have lived in Westwood Lakes for over 16 years. I do know seven of my closest neighbors very well, and we have all worked together and helped one another during hurricane outages and look out for each other’s homes while we are out on vacation. I have always enjoyed living in this neighborhood. However, during the past 3 years, I have noticed there are a lot more tenants residing in the area that are coming and going, in addition to the crime rate increasing. During the last three years of my 16 years here, I have personally experienced theft from my vehicle parked at my property."

"I have lived in Westwood Lakes for 16 years. I have always enjoyed my neighborhood and know most of my neighbors. Our closest neighbors have always looked out for our home when we are out of town as we do for them. We have pulled together our resources during a few hurricanes and outages sharing food, supplies, water and generators. Unfortunately, the neighborhood has taken a decline in the last 3 or 4 years with suspicious people wandering around late at night and our cars have been broken into and have had property stolen 3 times since 2016."

"Very small community of long term renters. Not very walkable but accessible to bus stops and driving distance to many places. Very safe & family friendly suburban neighborhood."

"The neighborhood known as Westwood Lakes expands from Southwest 107th Avenue to the Florida Turnpike and Southwest 40th Street (aka Bird Road) to Southwest 72nd Street (aka Sunset Drive). It offers excellent accessibility to major arteries of transportation and wonderful shopping centers."

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a concerned parent, I feel the need to share some honest feedback about Cypress K-8. While the school has potential, there are serious areas that need attention. One major issue is the lack of fairness and equality among staff. Certain teachers clearly show favoritism, recognizing only a select few students while overlooking others who consistently go above and beyond, work hard, and demonstrate excellence. This behavior not only discourages students but creates an unhealthy learning environment. All children deserve to be acknowledged and supported equally, regardless of background or personal bias. It’s also concerning that some of the treatment observed borders on discriminatory, raising serious questions about inclusivity and fairness.I truly hope the administration takes steps to evaluate the current teaching staff, implement training focused on equality and inclusion, and create a more positive, supportive environment for all students. Every child should feel seen, valued, and motivated to succeed.Parent Review1y ago13 Reviews - Royal Palm Elementary School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was attending at this school last year. And my appreciation is that they have good teachers, the after school team is very good and the director Marta Garcia is very involved in the daily activities, she knows the children and their parents. In our case we had no activities at school with the children and no contact with the PTA, I would have liked to meet the communityParent Review3y ago11 Reviews - Tropical Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLOVE this school, administration, security guards and especially the teachers. My son is in the ESE program and has progressed SO MUCH in one year and a half. But i saw the progression in a few months after his start date, very grateful for this school. I love the support, commuication, and care the teachers and staff have towards my child and us (the parents), including on zoom calls. I couldnt be happier with this school.Parent Review4y ago16 Reviews - St Timothy Parish School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is terrible. My children always say their math teachers is always yelling at them and bullies them. This makes my daughter have a negative impact on her mental heath and I think they should take quick action. Also , the take away recess for children who don’t behave. Recess is meant to have fun and as a therapist this is unbelievable. If children keeep having recess off this can be sued. Lasly, the school administrators favorite students and parents with popularity and financial income. Don’t put your child here.Parent Review11mo ago24 Reviews
