"Decent public transportation. Bus service could be better. Could access to bike share. Walkable neighborhood"

"It is well connected by both buses and trains. The red line is close by whereas the yellow line is little farther out but still walkable."

"Just visiting my kids and like the neighborhood. Wish there was a large grocery store closer to the neighborhood. Not very convenient if you need something quick."

"Lots of young new families moving in and growing in Eckington, great future developments coming (Bryant Street, Eckington Yards), close to Met Branch and Bloomingdale restaurants."

"Lot of people walking dogs. Not enough dog parks and activities. Could use a pet oriented retail within the community. "

"Excellent location for getting to all quadrants within 20 minutes or less. Convenient to bus, metro rail, car share, bike share, you name it, it can be found here. Service is also readily available at all hours here unlike some communities that become a ghost town after 9pm. "

"Eckington is among the many up and coming areas in DC. Eckington is unique because it has corners reaching each general city setting with commerce, warehouses, housing, and metro stations that run right through it. What makes it stand out is that it maintains a neighborhood feel without jeopardizing the city aspect of DC life."

"Easy commute -- it's within 15 min of virtually any destination in DC. I always take advantage of the metro station or super affordable ride sharing services. Although buses do run throughout the neighborhood, I have never used it."

"It’s like living in a suburb surrounded by the city. It’s quiet when it needs to be but has just enough going on."

"I have lived in Eckington for 4 years now and have send a wonderful transition of real estate improvements, great neighbors and huge reduction in crime , littering and vagrancy. What a wonderful change from the hard hit community of the 90's. Close to a thriving NoMA, H St. and U St. entertainment corridors!"

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall our experience has been great. The teachers truly go the extra mile for all the students, regardless of whether they are behind or advanced. Most of the kids in my child's class are right on grade level and there is also an advanced reading group. My child has loved all of the teachers and also loves the family events. We are so excited and proud to be part of a school that is improving.Parent Review6y ago9 Reviews - Harmony DC Public Charter Schools

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhere do I begin??? Mrs. Garris and Ms. Moten are absolutely EVERYTHING. They are patient, consistent, and always willing to help. I had 3 children attend this school over multiple school years. Ms. Cummings and Ms. Murcia are BOMB DOT COM. My daughter is a picky eater and by the end of the year, Ms. Cummings had her eating fruits and veggies that she wouldn't even LOOK AT before the school year started. Ms. Murcia is the GOAT of field trips. My son was on a trip (it seemed like) every month. They did projects and always had homework. I'm not sure if Ms. Murcia is still there, but she is awesome. Family engagement is actually upheld at Harmony. I must say I haven't had a school experience like Harmony before, and haven't had since we left. The ONLY reason we are not there anymore is because we moved to Maryland. I would absolutely recommend this school for grades PreK3-2nd as those are the only grades I experienced with my kids. I'm not sure how the higher grades are, but Harmony absolutely SPOILED our family with their care and attention to our needs. Secondary shoutout to Mr. Culha for always being a great listener to my concerns, and following up to make sure that the issues were resolved.Parent Review9mo ago17 Reviews
