Great learning environment for all the children.

I am an alumna of Our Lady of Lourdes School, Class of 2012, and attended from third through eighth grade. Although many years have passed, my experience there is something I will never forget. Unless the school has significantly changed over the years, I personally would not recommend it based on my experience.Throughout my years there, I experienced bullying from classmates, including hurtful treatment related to my nationality and where my parents came from. I remember students physically hitting me, saying horrible things to me, and making me feel excluded. Unfortunately, I did not always feel protected or supported by the school. There were a few faculty members who did support me, and I remain grateful to them.I also had the same teacher during two different grades who made me feel singled out and discriminated against. I will not name her, but I still remember how she made me feel as a child, including her reactions when my late father dropped me off at school or when my mother brought me lunch.I also personally witnessed what I felt was favoritism, including situations where students with family connections to faculty appeared to receive different treatment.Despite discovering some of my talents while attending the school and having a few teachers who positively impacted me, my overall experience was extremely difficult. I remember going home and crying to my mother and my late father about what I was experiencing. Those years affected my confidence and made me feel insecure about myself.I graduated in 2012, so I sincerely hope the school has changed since then and now provides a more inclusive and supportive environment where bullying and discrimination are taken seriously.Now that I am married and think about having children of my own someday, I know I would never want them to experience what I experienced. A school should be a place where every child feels safe, respected, included, and supported. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at Our Lady of Lourdes.
