My daughter went to this school in the year 2022 2019 and went through something terrible with a janitor she was in 3rd grade parents have the right to know

Shore Acres isn’t just a school; it’s a community. These kids struggle through homelife adversities, state testing ambiguities and school district apathy. But they never stop learning. The teachers and administration volunteer their time and resources creating programs to feed minds, bodies and souls. I’m so proud of our Super Sharks!

I am writing this review because my child goes here and I will be removing her for next year. My daughter has told me on several occasions that the principal has made unnecessary rude comments to her that made her so upset she cried when she told me. I will never understand why an adult who is a principal at a school feels that they can raise their voice and yell at students and make comments to them that are inappropriate. My daughter said she is not the only student that gets yelled at. I contacted the principal, Janis Heden, to talk to her about this and she set up a meeting. When I attended the meeting, she didn't even listen to what I had to say and rudely talked over me. She never says anything positive to my child and is always picking on her in front of other students. I would not recommend this school and the principal needs to find a different job since she clearly doesn't like being around children and likes to yell at them lowering their self est

Willow Cove Elementary School is like a family. All the colleagues work together to plan lessons. We also have weekly meetings to discuss important updates. The administration is there for us when we need them. We are a team and work together to tackle every day challenges. The students and their families are our priority. We involve parents as much as possible by inviting them to school events and field trips while making sure we are all safe and cleared with the current vaccinations and fingerprints. We are all a team trying to make school as attainable as possible to students and their families. We want students to have the tools they need to be as independent as possible and for families to know that we are there to provide resources and listen. We are here to help in any way we can, and if we cannot, we redirect them to people who can help them.

It’s not a good school no one care the struff are rude

Our family's experience with the preschool program at this school was exceptional. The preschool teacher and the program coordinator were warm and had a collaborative spirit. Kudos to the preschool program for making our child's early learning experience positive and enriching. We were very pleased with everything!Unfortunately, our experience following preschool did not meet the same standard. We observed a big shift in the approaches the school used. We had concerns about a lack of cultural sensitivity and limited willingness to engage collaboratively with parents. The disciplinary actions seemed developmentally inappropriate and punitive for young children still learning about social-emotional skills and impulsiveness. During meetings, we also encountered interactions with team members that felt dismissive and unpleasant. I lost faith in open, constructive conversations about our child's needs and progress. However, I think their academics were decent and appropriate for my child---my child performed well. Unfortunately, our child's teacher utilizes TikTok to post disparaging comments about parents. It was unprofessional and damaging to the sense of trust between them and us. My child's classroom environment also appeared overly focused on rule enforcement and behavior management through tools like ClassDojo. There was a lack of emphasis on teaching self-regulation or emotional growth.We hope the school will continue to build upon its strong preschool foundation and revisit its approach in kindergarten to support the holistic needs of its students better.
