"Traffic in Concord is the worst especially in the mornings and in the afternoons starting around 3pm daily. It takes forever to get anywhere around here. "

"The neighborhood is made up of modest single family houses, most of which were built in the 1940’s, but now are being spruced up by new owners. The majority of the houses and yards are small but well kept which makes them great starter homes for first time buyers. One perk of living in this neighborhood is that most of the homes are within walking distance to BART."

"There is a lot of dogs and plenty of fenced off fields to let the bigger ones play in. However I’ve never seen a fenced off front yard, so keep that in mind. "

"Everyone is so friendly in this neighborhood and look out for each other. When I am home I feel safe in this neighborhood. Packages are able to sit on my front porch without being taken. I can walk my dogs late at night without any issue."

"There are a lot of great dog parks near by. The dog owners in our neighborhood are pretty responsible and kind. My kids love to pet all dogs so they always ask first and 9 out of 10 times the dogs are really friendly and so are the owners. "

"Lack of sidewalks. Most roads in my neighborhood are very narrow with no pedestrian or bike paths. It can be unsafe when cars are passing by at fast speeds "

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe recently withdrew our daughter from Wood Rose Academy after repeated issues involving administration, staff conduct, and the school’s handling of student concerns. Our daughter has a documented medical condition with a formal 504 accommodation on file. Although the school acknowledged her dietary restrictions in writing, she was repeatedly offered food containing wheat during school events despite multiple reminders and prior communications. One particularly upsetting incident forced our daughter to publicly explain her medical condition in front of classmates after being offered food she could not safely eat. This caused her significant embarrassment and distress. After we raised concerns, the atmosphere noticeably changed. Our daughter began reporting that she felt singled out and ignored during class participation. Administrative responses also became increasingly dismissive and defensive instead of solution-oriented.At one point, the principal raised allegations involving a family member but later admitted she had not personally witnessed the incident and was relying entirely on secondhand information. This raised serious concerns regarding professionalism and judgment. The final incident that led us to immediately withdraw our daughter involved a complete breakdown of leadership and oversight. While we were at the school addressing a bathroom privacy issue involving a broken stall lock, a staff member who was also personally involved as a parent inserted herself into the situation, brought her child into the discussion, and began directly questioning our daughter in a confrontational manner. We repeatedly requested that the children be excused so adults could discuss the matter privately. That request was ignored. The interaction escalated while the principal failed to intervene, de-escalate the conflict, or protect the students from being drawn into an increasingly hostile adult confrontation. At that point, we completely lost confidence in the school’s ability to provide a safe, professionally managed, and supportive environment for our child. We strongly encourage prospective families to carefully evaluate how the school handles accommodations, parent concerns, and conflicts before enrolling.Parent Review1mo ago14 Reviews - King's Valley Christian School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attended this school from Pre-K through 8th grade. I strongly urge families of color and those with children who have special needs to conduct a thorough and objective evaluation before enrolling.Examine the school’s overall environment, including staff and student demographics. Consider whether the school’s interpretation of Christianity aligns with your own values and beliefs.Your financial investment and, more importantly, your child’s educational and emotional well-being warrant careful and critical assessment.Parent Review10mo ago23 Reviews
