2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageShore Acres isn’t just a school; it’s a community. These kids struggle through homelife adversities, state testing ambiguities and school district apathy. But they never stop learning. The teachers and administration volunteer their time and resources creating programs to feed minds, bodies and souls. I’m so proud of our Super Sharks!Other Review5y ago10 Reviews - Rio Vista Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTeachers focus on social emotional learning so kids feel heard and safe. There are several family nights per year with free food, learning and resources.Issues: people drive way too fast on the street and the school does not have any crossing guards so it does not feel safe. Some parents are not courteous and block people - but without admin representation outside, no one corrects them.Parent Review2y ago3 Reviews - Willow Cove Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal of this school, Catherine Borquez, is very bureaucratic and doesn’t really take time for students that require additional support. My child started in their special day class, and then was quickly placed in a mainstream class (with little to no support) at the very beginning of second grade. My child had a lot of difficulty keeping up with the curriculum that the school wanted to move ahead without making sure a student understood the material. Even with testing, the school refused to provide more support. The school uses Dojo to communicate with parents. Teachers were pretty communicative there, but not much communication in the way to help my child improve in different areas academically. If your child requires special education services, please avoid this school.Parent Review2y ago4 Reviews - Delta View Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family's experience with the preschool program at this school was exceptional. The preschool teacher and the program coordinator were warm and had a collaborative spirit. Kudos to the preschool program for making our child's early learning experience positive and enriching. We were very pleased with everything!Unfortunately, our experience following preschool did not meet the same standard. We observed a big shift in the approaches the school used. We had concerns about a lack of cultural sensitivity and limited willingness to engage collaboratively with parents. The disciplinary actions seemed developmentally inappropriate and punitive for young children still learning about social-emotional skills and impulsiveness. During meetings, we also encountered interactions with team members that felt dismissive and unpleasant. I lost faith in open, constructive conversations about our child's needs and progress. However, I think their academics were decent and appropriate for my child---my child performed well. Unfortunately, our child's teacher utilizes TikTok to post disparaging comments about parents. It was unprofessional and damaging to the sense of trust between them and us. My child's classroom environment also appeared overly focused on rule enforcement and behavior management through tools like ClassDojo. There was a lack of emphasis on teaching self-regulation or emotional growth. We hope the school will continue to build upon its strong preschool foundation and revisit its approach in kindergarten to support the holistic needs of its students better.Parent Review10mo ago16 Reviews - Above And Beyond Academy
