"One of the last LA cities that is zoned for horses. We see horses and their riders all the time and it’s unique and fun to see. The mountains are beautiful and the winds make this area one of the best air quality cities. "

"I've lived here 18 years (since Sept. 2001), and my wife and I like it very much. We live on the hills which we love. It's quiet and safe. My wife and I walk in the evenings, and we have always felt safe. I have worked as a teacher here since 1992, and I've been nearby (about a block away from the school) where crime was committed only once a few years ago. I took a class at the junior college here, and I liked it. I also liked the professor very much."

"There are a lot of schools nearby. A lot of kids walk to school hear and there is a red center in the park down the street. However there is also quite a bit of street traffic so it is best little ones are accompanied crossing the streets. "

"A lot of traffic during rush hour from the people traveling to/from the SC and Antelope Valleys. Glenoaks is a good alternate to the 210 since there is ongoing construction on Foothill. Most bus routes aren’t convenient for local travel and will increase travel time by 200-300%. "

"Oakridge is a terrible place to live. The HOA is aweful you can't even walk your dogs. Scot will go on your property with no notice and look in your house. Office staff is very rude. So glad to be out of there"

"The Commute to Los Angeles is a big rough if you leave late however,if you give yourself the allotted time needed you should get to your destination with no problem. Taking the Train to Union station and the subway to your drop off is the best route and you don’t have to deal with the traffic. "

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately I had the worse experience a father can have with assistant principal and principal. So my daughter 11 years old use a foul word to another student not sure for what reason, but I was called by phone and they were making my daughter repeat the bad word I told my daughter not to repeat the word that I would address it with her at home so the principal decided to just grab the phone or on speaker not sure and repeat the bad word again. I don’t agree with my daughter using foul language so it would be taking care of but the principal repeat the word and act like it was ok. That I don’t agree either. I went into the office to let them know that I wasn’t ok the way it was handled and they said that’s the way they handle things. Two wrongs don’t make a right for what I remember . I asked next time pls don’t repeat the foul language in front of my daughter and she said that’s the way we handle this situation here . Sad to say I’m 42 now and did kinder to six grade here at this school. I don’t recommend this school to anyone at least not until these principals are gone or replaced.Parent Review7mo ago15 Reviews - Harding Street Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son just finished 5th grade at this school and we had a great experience while he was at this school. Teachers are amazing and except for this year, he always received the social emotional help whenever he needed it. We get notified of activities happening at the school and there's something for everyone. I felt that everyone cared about my child from the moment he walked in to the moment he left.Parent Review10mo ago11 Reviews - Herrick Avenue Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool fails to follow through with care plans that the principal himself assures will take into action. Bullying / sexual harassment is tolerated and taken as a joke .Parent Review11mo ago10 Reviews - Hubbard Street Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool is teaching gender studies without parents knowledge. Telling children it’s ok to be a boy or a girl even to be neither. I want my kid to learn about math science English not about sexuality. Feels like there is some agenda behind this.Parent Review1y ago12 Reviews
