I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible educational foundation my children have received at Beckford Charter. The welcoming environment for both parents and students, along with the cleanliness of the school, truly stands out. The activities and events are always fun and well-organized.I am especially proud of my now middle schooler, who is excelling in writing to the point where his current English teacher has to provide him with alternative assignments. He has shown remarkable skills in areas such as character analysis and text evidence, among others.Thank you once again to all the teachers and staff for their dedication and hard work. It has made a significant difference in our lives.

my daughter in a second grad at Castlebay, we got accepted in PRCS, Principal David Price refuse to sign the intra district release, my daughter not learning and had safety concerns in her class 2nd grad but no one bother to answer us, we found out the school is low in head count and losing a kids will impact the funding, this is how the principal David Price take care of the students, all about numbers, we are trying to find a way to get out of this school, please be advised if they put you kids in a split class, DO NOT ACCEPT, the trick here they will tell you your kid is a head of the game and he can handle the split class, that's why we had to find other school to leave, LAUS is declining with the head count due to this bad policy they have. we are finding a way to get out of this school, The Principal now having control of my daughter and this is not legal, we have the choice to decide what is the right for our kid, all good teachers left this school. please stay away.

My child started at Darby in 3rd grade. While she was advanced in reading/writing, she was a bit behind in math. By the end of the school year she was scoring above grade level in all subjects. More importantly, the Darby community really embraced her as a new student and now has more besties than I can count (and so do I). We love living so close to our school. Having a bunch of friends that live within 5 minutes will give you a small town vibe in a big city that can otherwise feel overwhelming.Communication can be a bit rough, but if you get involved and stay involved, you’ll have insight to everything.

This is a HCOL area so standards are high. From the reviews I see a lot of concerns re: bullying but that hasn’t been my experience. Parents are highly engaged in group chats, financially, and they show up to participate. Most kids come from the community so it’s an ideal setup IMO. I give 4/5 stars not because I think the kids are unsafe but for the way the admin/staff handle safety incidents - some things should trigger a phone call from the teacher not just messaging through the app. I found out about an injury from the school nurse and took a fair amount of pushing to get answers. That said my kiddo adored their teachers. They’re also in before/after school so it’s nice to see them interact with students in other grades. The school offers numerous after school programs and off site field trips not just during school but also weekends. I’m impressed with my kiddo’s reading/writing/general interest in learning at a young age, and I credit the teachers with that.

If you want your child to hate school and not go to college send them here. This place makes kids miserable and why would they want to continue to college when they're done here. The teachers are mean and rude. They put so much pressure and work on the kid that they spend their whole afternoon and weekends doing homework.
