"I just love the neighborhood! The only problem is if you live close to the traffic street otherwise is nice neighborhood! Everything is close. Theaters, markets, restaurants. Costco, the Home Depot! Everything you need !"

"Bad public schools, but relatively nice, safe and quiet part of the Valley. Don’t feel like the kids can go across the street by themselves, but don’t feel like they’re in imminent danger all day either. "

"Love it or leave it. Probably the best and most affordable location in the valley right now. My parents bought the home in 2001 and got caught to sub prime lending, most of the people here are hard working individuals that just want a better future. Is it perfect ? Probably not but can you live here and still be safe yes it’s a nice community. "

"People walk their dogs without leashes and do not pick up after their pets. People in the neighborhood have huge dogs and there are a lot of stray cats. People in the neighborhood feed them. "

"Surrounded by main major streets and 101 freeway. Easy to get where you need to go. Also close to public transportation and shopping. "

"It’s very dark at night and the park is unsafe at night. I’d just avoid leaving the house after sunset unless you’re driving/going to another area. No/very few streetlights, so be careful. Also, check Miranda’s law website. Not as safe of an area as you’d think."

"I've lived here for the last ten years. It's become a lovely place where kids are able to walk to school and enjoy their time at the park with no worries. "

"Too many fireworks late at night. Will scare dogs. My street doesn’t have sidewalks so it’s hard to safely walk a dog. The park down the street is huge and would be great for dogs to run around, most of the side on the Main Street is fenced off so it’s relatively safer."

"I have lived in this neighborhood for over 20 years my kids grew up here went to school here. I have had the greatest neighbors most are the same ad when I bought this house. People watch out for each others kids when playing, houses when your away and each other always. I couldn’t have picked a better neighborhood to live in and have my kids grow up in."

"My neighborhood is well balanced with diversity. It also has good charter schools, college and technical center nearby. Parks and streets are all well maintained. It is an surrounded by two upscale neighborhoods one being Northridge and the other is Woodland Hills. Also, the orange line is close by and provides free park and go. "

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur child has been attending preschool here, though only because our resident school (LAUSD assigned school) is a very low-performing, bottom-of-the-barrel type school and we are still playing the lottery for the better charter schools in our area. I have to say that nearly all the preschool teachers, are warm, welcoming, and seem to truly enjoy what they do. The grounds are very secure and there are always private security guards waling the grounds, the school is well organized and drop-off/pick-up, even if super busy, is always very smooth. However, as some reviewers have noted, the school is very expensive and all afterschool enrichment classes you have to pay for (though this is true for public schools as well). All private preschools in the same tuition range offer an 8AM-5PM/5:30PM day, but this school has decided that their cut off is 3:00PM and if you want extended hours you have to pay an additional fee. I also find it odd that the parents have to contribute $200+ (as of 2023) per child each year towards a gift fund for the child's teachers and the principle. It seems like we are bribing them with gifts to guarantee that they are "kind" to our children. However, my bigger issue is the lack of rigorous academic curriculum AND blatant discrimination against children with a disability. As another reviewer noted, they adhere to the CA standards (because they have to) and that's it. History is thought through a Western and colonial lens, indigenous peoples and their achievements are largely ignored; world history focuses on the West and Asia, starting around 8000 BC, so hundreds of thousands of years of human history are not even touched on and Africa (minus Egypt) get left out of World History. And this is what I got from a short conversation with the curriculum development director. As someone who teaches at a Tier 1 research university in the US, their academic shortcomings and prejudice are obvious; not a place where I would allow my children to continue their education.Parent Review2y ago6 Reviews
