"I have lived in Studio City, Los Angeles, over a year. Very friendly, lots of dogs and walkers even at night. Not quiet because of so many home remodels but is safe and peaceful otherwise "

"Nice area but robbery happens. Plenty of stores, parks, hiking , etc. Good restaurants, scenic views, etc. Variety of people, cultures, etc. some may make you feel neighborly or not. It depends on the people "

"The local parks are great for meeting other families. Streets are usually well- maintained, but they can flood when it rains. Great restaurants and bars nearby. Aside from families with kids at the parks, people keep to themselves. Neighborhood overall seems sadly hostile towards homeless population that lives to the north. "

"For the most part it is very dog friendly. Minor issues can be people walking their dogs off leash and assuming everyone’s dog is as friendly as theirs. That can get annoying but it only happens once in a while. "

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI agree that this school is a real hidden gem. We had our eldest in a nearby high ranking charter school and our youngest has been attending Rio for a few years now due to us moving. Although we originally tried to put our youngest in the same charter school as our eldest, we came to love Rio so much and no longer want to move her. The community, the parents, the teachers, the staff... Everyone here cares so much about the kids. Despite their much lower budget than the charter schools, they do so much! Their music program is the best that I've seen in the elementary schools nearby, with quality instructors and real ensemble instruction. The front office always greets everyone with a smile and helpfulness. While we appreciated the previous principal for her attention to every student, we understood that not all parents felt the same way. I do love the new principal though! She's warm, and super attentive too! You can tell how much she cares about this school. The biggest thing I do have to say though in comparison to other schools and what I experienced and hear from other parents is what happens when there is bullying situations. This school and the teachers and principal are soooo responsive and address things right away, together with the parent and student. Compared to other schools, we hear about situations where parents are extremely unhappy with how their kids are treated in these situations, despite being the victims of bullying. We are so lucky to have discovered Rio. Staying here for sure!Parent Review8mo ago43 Reviews - Carpenter Community Charter School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI just moved to Los Angeles from another very highly rated school and district. I cannot say enough about this incredible school. I am the last person to write a review like this, but I’ve been amazed seeing my daughter flourish and grow and challenge herself with the more engaging curriculum here. The teachers don’t let students get lost in the crowd. I honestly think public education doesn’t get better than this.Parent Review1mo ago36 Reviews - Bridges Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI couldn't love Bridges more. My 2e son (gifted + learning differences) is so happy there, it is an absolute haven if you have a 2e kid. Social emotional counselors for each cohort. Other kids with similar challenges and interests. I genuinely have no idea where else we could send our child if not for Bridges. I am so grateful to have found it.Parent Review1y ago37 Reviews - St. Charles Borromeo

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGREAT SCHOOL and COMMUNITY! We have been at this school for 10+ years between our kids. Our oldest child was beyond academically prepared for high school. The principal and teachers are very caring and put the children first. The lines of communication are open between working parents, stay at home parents and teachers. The winning athletic program was and is a great way to introduce school sports to young students. The students leaving 8th grade at St. Charles Borromeo have a disproportionately high acceptance rate to the high schools of their choice. I would highly recommend this school to anyone seeking strong academics (TK-8th), arts and athletics. We are so thankful the school created a safe way to return to the classroom to learn post COVID.Parent Review3y ago21 Reviews - Hollywood Alternative Schooling

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlease keep in mind this is not a typical school, it is for children who have medical issues temporarily keeping them out of school. Teachers come either to the hospital or home so that the student doesn’t fall behind on academics. In my experience the teachers have all been very caring and able to adjust to the students needs. We are grateful for them.Parent Review2y ago2 Reviews
