"this neighborhood has great public transportation and getting downtown via bus or train is relatively quick and easy in comparison to driving which can be a little bit more problematic depending on the time of day. even driving is relatively convenient to the fact that we are near 10 Freeway and 405"

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family had the most amazing two years at New World Montessori! From day one, we felt welcomed into a nurturing, positive community, and our child absolutely thrived in the environment. The preschool is set up perfectly to encourage independence and curiosity, and our child loved every minute of it.The teachers here are nothing short of fantastic. They're not just experts in the Montessori method, but also incredibly caring, patient, and attentive to each child's needs. They took the time to really understand our child's strengths and helped them grow both academically and socially in ways that exceeded our expectations. We really appreciated the variety of extracurricular offerings, too! From learning a second language to participating in sports and swimming, the environment was incredibly enriching. Since these activities took place during the school day, our child still had plenty of time to rest and relax at home. After two years at NWMS our family had to move to a different state, and while we were sad to leave, we couldn't be more grateful for the foundation this preschool provided. Our child started their new school completely prepared and confident, ready to take on new challenges without missing a beat. The Montessori method truly fostered a love for learning, and the skills they developed -- problem-solving, independence, and collaboration -- have made the transition to a new school so much easier.Socially, our child has flourished, too. Thanks to the mixed-age classrooms and the focus on community, they learned how to work well with others and gained real confidence in their abilities. It's clear that the strong interpersonal skills and sense of empathy they developed at NWMS have carried over to their new school. We can't say enough good things about our experience. It's been a huge part of our child's early growth and success, and we highly recommend it to any family looking for a loving and enriching preschool environment.Parent Review1y ago32 Reviews - Redeemer Baptist Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don’t know why I’m even writing this but this school has been both a life saver and the opposite. Redeemer helps me a lot with God but not so much the students. For example when there’s a problem in middle school with some of the kids, you can’t get away from it even if you wanted to bc it’s so small. Disabilities is also a pretty big problem here…But overall I think this is a good school, it’s the kids who mess it up… and also I am leaving this year but it’s not just bc of what I said.Student Review1y ago25 Reviews - The Westside Christian Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlay Mountain Place has been a transformative place for our family.Watching my kids grow here has honestly been one of the most healing experiences of my life as a parent. This is an outdoor school that truly sees children holistically, as humans worthy of deep listening, respect, and care. There's a strong foundation in nonviolent communication, emotional literacy, and conflict repair, and it shows. My kids already know how to talk through disagreements, set boundaries, and not take things personally. Sometimes I'm floored by how much emotional wisdom they've developed--and how much I'm learning alongside them. The support is real and tangible. The student to teacher ratio is amazing, and there is always a teacher available for individualized attention, and importantly, parents are supported too. It's a community that understands children in context--family, history, nervous systems, all of it.I truly believe this school is helping heal generational trauma. I find myself wishing I could jump into a time machine and go back and attend Play Mountain Place as a child, just to see who I might have become if I'd been met with this level of care, attunement, and respect. In a world that feels increasingly dark and disconnected, Play Mountain Place has been a safe haven for my family. I couldn't recommend it more!Parent Review2mo ago21 Reviews
