"Large one acre lots provide privacy. Everyone takes care of their yards in my area of LaCanada and Magee. I see Javelina’s, bob cats, coyotes, birds of prey regularly. If you have outdoor cats, they won’t live long in this area. Neighbors are fantastic."

"Tucked away and has quite setting, even though it’s in a development close to a busy Main Street. My family would be much happier farther north, however. "

"Can be tough in most neighborhoods, due to the lack of sidewalks. Roads are pretty curvy, making it hard to know when a car is coming around the corner. "

"the Highland Park HOA is very tyrrannical. if you upset the board, they have a dirty habit of having your car towed from your driveway or garage. the HOA here also has tow trucks patrolling the streets, towing anyone who leaves their car parked in front of your home in less than 15 minutes. the HOA is also fine-happy. they will fine you for any little infraction."

"The houses have lots of backyard space for your dogs to run around and the neighborhoods are good for walking in. We do have coyotes in in the neighborhoods so you should be careful to let smaller animals run loose"

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHarelson is a fantastic school choice, with just the right mix of oversight, rigor, extra-curricular activities, and absolute love for the kids as a whole. In my experience, my daughter had fantastic teachers the entire time she was there and was more than prepared to transition to middle school. Its really nice that the middle school is right next door, so as the kids grow they have opportunity to interact (at times) with the other campus and mentor students to see their progression. Harelson is great at encouraging character growth, kindness, and responsibility through positive reinforcement. However, they are well equipped to handle issues as they arise and they do a great job. The principal is very professional, highly involved, and easy to talk to, as he should be. He has a great rapport with the teachers and students.Parent Review4y ago88 Reviews - Mesa Verde Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePrincipal Tracy is amazing. School community is amazing. The school is big on teaching kindness and social/ emotional skills. Would’ve liked to see more homework, parent opportunities to volunteer especially in the older grades and in the special needs classroom.Parent Review4y ago6 Reviews - Butterfield Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI could not be happier with my kiddos' experience at Ironwood. We open enroll at this school despite living much closer to our neighborhood school. We feel so welcomed, loved and safe at Ironwood. The presence from staff and administration at events, and before and after school is unmatched. We wouldn't go anywhere else.Parent Review6mo ago15 Reviews - St Elizabeth Ann Seton School
