4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter’s in seventh grade and I thought this school would be a good school. I am moving her to a different school for eighth grade and I agree with the other reviews that the principal Mrs. Godínez, at the school is rude and does not care. My daughter had an issue with a substitute teacher who was being rude and embarrassing her in front of the class and when I spoke to Mrs. Godínez, she was very rude and dismissive and didn’t look me in the eye. When I asked her for her card, she said she didn’t have any and for me to just call the office… lucky for me, her email is public information. Unfortunately, the teachers at the school have a very old-fashioned mentality where kids are not allowed to speak up and these teachers have a problem with treating kids fairly and respectfully. Additionally, Some of the teachers are petty and retaliate against students for speaking up.Parent Review4w ago18 Reviews - John H. Francis Polytechnic

" Neighbors are making efforts to keep the neighborhood clean and maintain street safe. Everyone is encouraged to report suspicious activities in the area. There are people jogging and walking the dogs every day. People are quite friendly."

"Rather quiet neighborhood. Private school is good. Easy access to freeways . Start seeing some homeless RV parking a little north of the city. "

"The area is relatively safe and the private school, Village Christian School is a K-12 school, best school in the area. The area is very accessible to freeways and close to Downtown LA. "

"It’s a more industrial area and it needs more city funding and care. However it is fairly quiet and safe except for parties and lots of fireworks (apparently we have pyromaniacs here???) . Location has great access to Burbank, van nuys, Hollywood."

"Near the 5 FWY and I drive so that's important for me. I don't know much about the public transportation. the traffic is heavy most of the time. "

"I live here. It’s not great but it’s not as bad as it looks. Our neighbors are kind good people but this isn’t a quiet neighborhood by any means. If you don’t tolerate barking dogs, fireworks throughout the year and huge family parties this isn’t a place for you. Also, your wooden/brick fence is a prime place for surprise “””local street art”””” lol"

"Safe area with good neighbors that are friendly and no worries about criminal activity taking over. Also, knowing that cops will actually respond and take action. Wishful thinking basically. "

"I have lived here for-three years and I hate it. It’s dirty, smelly and unsafe. The homeless people have taken over this city. It’s unbelievable. Nothing here to do for fun."

"We need more trash cans around our neighborhood along with more sidewalks. At night there isn’t enough street lights down streets. Maybe a dog park would be beneficial that way dog and people get to know each ."
