"There’s tons of dog owners walking their dogs here, but not everyone cleans up after the dogs. This is a safe neighborhood to walk in. "
  • Gabriel R.
"There aren’t too many trash cans which sucks but it’s very safe which is nice. Also there is a dog park in the area which is very nice. There is one for small dogs and adult dogs"
  • Robiya E.
"I’ve been living in this area for 8 years, it is a nice and quiet neighborhood by the beach. Perfect for families."

"True Brooklyn gem that is part of NYC but feels like a beach town. Neighborly feel of a beautiful Bay / Beach community."
  • Elmira F.
"Safe neighborhood for Brooklyn, but problems with neighbors stealing packages and not friendly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  • "I've lived in the neighborhood for 3 years and in close by neighborhoods for past 16 , it is one of the best Brooklyn neighborhoods. Anybody who loves beach living , outdoors , safe and secure neighborhood with one of the best elementary schools with close proximity to a subway system would love this neighborhood."

"Manhattan Beach is a peninsula separated from the rest of Brooklyn by Sheepshead Bay on three sides and is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay. It is a unique upper middle class neighborhood that is totally unlike the rest of Brooklyn. That is why the median price for the area is so much lower that the asking prices listed. It is totally residential but a footbridge connects it to the more commercial Sheepshead Bay neighborhood which has restaurants, stores and mass transit. There is one avenue that has city bus service that delivers beach goers to the area and also students that attend Kingsborough Community College located at the tip of the peninsula. There is a tree lined promenade along the Bay that has benches. The beach is within easy walk. There are tennis courts and in the college hosts outdoor concerts. Manhattan is less than an hour away by car depending on traffic and which part of Manhattan you're going to. The subway is not too far a walk away. Shopping, schools and houses of worship are within a walkable distance. The area has a rich history. Once an exclusive and rich neighborhood, the area attracted a movie stars and other famous people. Houses have large and well maintained gardens and you feel you are in a suburb instead of in the city."
