"Public transportation is within a block or two of everyone’s house. I don’t use it often, so I don’t really know how much time is involved. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the furthest place you could go in Minneapolis/St. Paul from here by car. Suburbs, maybe 45. Most things you need for errand are within 15 minutes."

"Highland is a safe, relatively quiet neighborhood in St Paul. It is a little boring though, and could use better bike lanes and trails. "

"They would like the neighborhood walks. People are very polite about keeping dogs separated, and people like your dog. St. Kate’s allows leashed dogs on campus, and they have a nice campus walk."

"There are lots of dogs walking around the neighborhood. There are some nice dog parks in the area. There are good pet stores. "

"What I want parents to know...? Lots of multi family residents. Sometimes you can smell weed outside but never in doors. Look your cars all the time. 2sec head turn will be the last you see it. "

"I always see neighbors walking there dogs. This neighborhood definitely welcomes dogs. I have not seen any issues with neighbors not picking up after dogs either. "

"I drive every working day from Highland to Golden Valley. I leave at about 9am and return at about 7:00 pm. At those times it takes about 20 minutes to drive 12 miles on I94, and I-394 or MN-55."

"I have lived here for +5 years. Quiet neighborhood. No crime. Mix of families with children, empty nesters and retirees. Walk along the Mississippi and see deer, bald eagles, wild turkeys and the occasional coyote."

"I've lived in Highland for 31 years. It's a safe, walkable neighborhood of friendly people. Centrally located to everything. Definitely worth the premium we pay (higher $/sq. ft., higher taxes than most burbs) to live here."

"It's a great neighborhood. The people are friendly. There are great schools in the neighborhood for children to attend. There are plenty of stores that are in walking distance so a vehicle is not necessary. "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for three years and love it. Folks are friendly and it's easy to walk most places. Rent is a bit high, but it's a sought after area, so that makes sense. Lots of big trees line the streets and they change beautifully throughout the seasons!"

"Excellent location in the Twin Cities. Great public transit, walk to dozens of shops, etc., 7 minutes drive to MSP airport, good sense of community."

"Pros: Beautiful neighborhood. Upper end housing stock. Multiple parks in the area. Golf course, disc golf, fishing nearby, walking paths, great area for pets, safe and secure. Cons: Very few quality restaurants, bars, or shopping. No retail within 8 blocks. Highland Park is a great neighborhood. It could be the next 50th and France but the vision for upscale shopping and dining just isn't there yet. "

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUltimately I removed my children from this school. If you have a child with an IEP this is not the school for them. Unable to follow state guidelines when it comes to IEP’s. Repeatedly had to be on top of the special ed department to get documentation within specific timeframes. Answers to my children’s IEP’s not being followed were always “we are short staffed”.Parent Review10mo ago12 Reviews - Horace Mann School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do not feel that this school is a great school for students who have a learning disability. My experience is that it was very negative. They questioned the parent. They don’t listen to doctors notes even after several times advocating for my child to get an IEP rude staff to my kid Just isolating my child when my kid asked for help in an assignment that she doesn’t understand it gets ignored. It’s really sad because there are children who need that one in one attention and when parents advocate for their kids to get the things that they need and the teachers and the adults in that school don’t listen that makes it a frustrating experience for everyone involved, especially the child who is going through that I do not think this is a five star school. I think they are an equipped to deal with and help people with learning disabilities who needs who have the same rights to learn and get the education that they need. They are rude to the parents and don’t take much feedback because they go off their right and you’re wrong .thats there way of thinking. They are more protective over their staff in the means of their children that go to the school. I am disappointed with my experience and I would never recommend this school .Parent Review8mo ago9 Reviews - Expo for Excellence Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school provides a really positive learning environment. I have one shy kid who is confident and thriving here. I didn't think we would like it because it's big, but it feels like a small, tight community. Parents are active and supportive. Teachers and leadership are AMAZING. We love this school so much.Parent Review7y ago21 Reviews - Urban Academy Charter School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teaching staff are beyond engaged and committed; they are the lifeblood of the school, and they create magical experiences for these kids. I would love to see them all quit Sunny Hollow en masse and found their own school. The Administration and Board (the ones who last there, anyway) are dead weight for this group of talented educators. Very mixed experience as a family. Part wholesome, part toxic. Proceed with caution.Parent Review4w ago24 Reviews - Highland Catholic School
