"Easy, there are local buses to downtown which I usually take on bad weather days. Otherwise, I usually bike"

"Charming, lovely. Most of the area is well maintained. Feels very colonial in architecture. Cute restaurants "

"Residential, young families. Progressively become more gentrified. Not a lot of restaurants but very historic, walkable, and dog-friendly. "

"Public schools here are filled up fast and no guarantees if you live here the student will attend here. Private schools are in North end or Cambridge."

"Public transportation is far away if you plan on taking the T or water taxi from living in the heart of Charlestown. You are going to have a good mile+ hike up to Bunker Hill College or all the way in the Navy Yard for a water taxi. "

"Charlestown is a phenomenal community for families. Kids play together in parks and there are great resources such as baby yoga, libraries, museums, boys and girls club, etc. Everything is within walking distance and it really is so lovely - minus the projects, drugs and crime. City living at its best!"

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI did not want to like this school, it was certainly not our top choice. And I still don't like it, I LOVE it and so does my child. I had the choice to put my child back in the lottery for next year, but we are home at Harvard Kent. The principal is amazing. He's so clearly cares about the children and educators. He is engaging, transparent, responsive and only wants the very best for the school in general. Every teacher I meet is kind, caring and invested. I wish I went to a school like this when I was a child. I know Harvard Kent doesn't look that great on paper yet, but the reality of the school is beautiful.Just wait, they are going to be the number one school in Boston in no time.Parent Review1mo ago7 Reviews - Warren-Prescott K-8 School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStudent with autism having graduated in 2023. A-Team was kind of ridiculous - I was getting in trouble for things that would otherwise be normal sensory things, like playing with food. If you like a certain seat on the bus, if it is at the front, the teachers will just force a little kid next to you, prioritizing their own convenience over your personal space. Some of the teachers can overreact to things - I got in trouble for breaking an eraser that was literally hanging by a thread! I lived in Eastie which didn't help, as while waiting for my bus I'd get micromanaged by one of the staff! She'd accuse me of arguing with her on some occasions! Maybe I should've looked into a more local school...Other Review1mo ago21 Reviews - Horace Mann School For The Deaf
