"Lincoln Park has very easy access to public transportation and it is largely reliable. The best part is how walkable it is, though. "

"Lakeview is a large neighborhood with many smaller hoods within it ( Southport corridor, wrigley, boystown, etc.. ) there are lots of areas full of bars and restaurants and lots of areas that’s purely residential. Tree lined streets everywhere and lots of parks . It’s a young neighborhood with mostly 20-late 30s yr olds z "

"I love this neighborhood. The tree lined streets and unique houses make it very enjoyable year round. It’s very central to many neighborhoods in Chicago making it easy to get to Wicker Park, Lakeview, Downtown, and the Lake Path. For being a big city, it’s a very quiet neighborhood. I’ve lived in several different neighborhoods in Chicago and this is by far the most peaceful!"

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI regret having my child attend this high school. The only reason I kept him in it was because he made actual friends for the first time. Communication here from parent to staff is non existent. I'm still waiting on replied to my emails from 2024. I've emailed principal Grace Moody multiple times with no response. Same thing with counselor. Children have been assaulted here with chair thrown at head and no one contacted parents. This happened multiple times until a parent spoke up with a possible law suit. Kid got suspended after multiple incidents. First time I saw principal was at graduation. Kids say they barely ever saw her.Parent Review1y ago23 Reviews - Mayer Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDo not send your small children to this school if they cry or have separation anxiety. They won't deal with it and will make you feel like a terrible parent for having a child that expresses emotion. If I could change one thing about raising my children - just one - it would be sending my children to this school for even one second.Parent Review4y ago12 Reviews - St. Clement School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur daughter transferred to St Clement as a 6th grader. The first two months were challenging, and we knew joining a close-knit community would take time. What made all the difference was the support we received along the way. Our welcome family didn't just help us during the transition. They have continued to offer friendship and encouragement throughout the year. Her advisory teacher took the time to truly know her, thoughtfully observing her growth socially and academically while keeping in close communication with us as parents. We are also grateful to the many teachers, staff members, students and families who made an effort to include her and help her feel that she belonged. We are thankful not only that our daughter found her place, but for how she got there with patience, kindness, understanding, and genuine care. The experience helped her grow in confidence and resilience that will stay with her far beyond middle school. We are very fortunate to be part of this community and are grateful for all who helped make this transition such a positive one for our family.Parent Review1mo ago28 Reviews - St. James Lutheran School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt. James number one asset, by far, is the way in which the community of families show up to support the total organization (school & church). It's a 'home' where parents of current or future students, can expect an elite education, delivered by leaders (leadership, staff, & teachers) who truly care & are invested in your children, imbedded in a Christian worldview perspective, and all wrapped into a growth mindset. St. James is also a place you can have a 'real' conversation with your Pastor, challenge your Principal (and she'll listen), and engage in authentically fun social experiences. It's a tough place to beat.Parent Review3mo ago31 Reviews - Francis W Parker School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family loves being a member of the Parker community. Our children love being part of a community where every student learns within the same building. The Lower School program provides a solid foundation for scholastic excellence while taking into account the social emotional needs of this age group. As students age up, they are given significant leadership opportunities among their peers, as well as to the younger members of the Parker community. Progressive education is at the heart of Parker's philosophy and is evident in every classroom, from JK through 12th grade. Teachers are constantly adapting their lessons to meet the needs of their students. The parent community at Parker is vibrant, inclusive and engaging. Affinity groups, social service and interest groups are constantly evolving to meet the growing needs of the adult community. I couldn't be happier to have my children attending Parker.Parent Review8mo ago16 Reviews - St Josaphat School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy three children have attended this exceptional Catholic school, and we could not be more grateful for the education and foundation they have received. As a three-time Blue Ribbon Award winner, the school truly lives up to its reputation for academic excellence. My older children have gone on to achieve academic success, and the strong educational foundation they received here prepared them well for the challenges of high school and beyond. What makes this school especially unique is its warm, caring, and faith-filled community. The teachers and staff genuinely care about each student’s growth — academically, spiritually, and personally. The sense of community and support among families is something truly special. We are thankful for the values, discipline, and love of learning this school has instilled in our children. I highly recommend this school to any family seeking a strong education in a nurturing environment.Parent Review1mo ago14 Reviews
