I am writing to share my experience as a former student to provide perspective on the school’s environment. During my time at Rooftop, I faced persistent bullying and social isolation due to my minority status and lack of interest in soccer. These issues escalated to physical altercations in upper school; however, reporting these incidents to the counseling department resulted in no meaningful action or support for my safety.I was unprepared for a large high school environment and struggled with depression until transitioning to an academic high school where I now thrive on the honor roll and teams. I am sharing this feedback because I continue to encounter current students through my tutoring work who face similar systemic struggles. I hope this encourages more proactive steps to ensure every student feels supported and protected.
