"North Alton area has a lot of charm. Most homes are old. Feels safe, everyone is friendly. Lived in this area 20 years. Raised my children here. School system was sufficient when my kids attended. Great school spirit. Overall decent place to live. And if you’re single, the downtown Alton nightlife is just a few blocks away."
  • Kara Bertels
"I’m not sure I’ve not seen any yet around here but it would be nice to see some, especially for kids. "
  • Mchase930
"I've lived in this neighborhood for 7 yrs and love. neighbors are nice, but not nosy. it is 5 minutes away from several stores...definitely walking distance. even though it is a bust street, its not a noisy one."

"The neighbor is quiet and your houses aren’t right on top of each other. Their is plenty of parks for kids. The school is a good school. "
  • TT
"I've lived here for 22 years, neighbors are great. However, crime is up and riffraff about so safety concerns now that never worried about before."
  • Someonewhoknows2
"This is a beautiful neighborhood with a lot of diversity. It has character and old fashion appeal. Large homes, duplex and apartments with its originality. The community has survived the worst although the love and spirit of the city is here. Perfectly located in the middle of everything, the smell of Fast Eddies Chicken or fried rice from the Hong Kong house decorates the air. I love it here, it’s safe with the beautiful mixture of people from all walks of life. Like with any city this area has its flaws, yet the flaws is what makes the beauty of it all!"
  • Patricialucas78

  • Claudiaharju

  • Laurincbuettner
"We are a tourist attraction because we are supposed to be one of the most haunted cities in America. "
  • Dhowardmbc
"Live in a unique condo in a one of a kind building. Have wonderful view of the Mississippi River. Brick streets. very friendly neighbors."
