Our daughter’s primary, lower elementary and upper elementary teachers have been gifts to our family. Our child is in 6th now and loves going to school! Her teacher greets her with tea on chilly mornings, always has soft music playing in the classroom and she’s created such a kind and caring culture. Our daughter’s writing and math skills have also flourished in upper el. Sometimes we read her descriptive writing pieces and cannot believe she’s only twelve. Until 4th, she was reticent to read and write. It’s so evident the teachers form deep connections with their students and families and foster a love of learning.

We love Fratney! Great school and being Spanish immersion is such a huge benefit.

My ratings are based on long ago experience. I graduated from Hamilton in 1973 and toured the school last year for my 50th reunion. I hadn't set foot in the school since graduation and I was overjoyed that it hadn't changed at all. The auditorium, the pool, the cafeteria were exactly the same. Pristine! I got emotional walking into the gym, I could hear the crowd cheering for our state basketball champs! Then I heard from our tour guide that only 50% of students graduate compared to 90% of my class of 73. Barely any participation in sports or the many extracurricular activities. What a shame that my school has fallen so far. What the heck happened to the public schools in Milwaukee?

People are very rude and unwelcoming, please do better!

Me and my siblings have gone to this school for years and they have a terrible education system even the language program is terrible the teachers fail to teach their students correctly and they never handle violence correctly or bullying.

In my experience and from what I’ve observed, Milwaukee School of the Arts may not be the best choice for students who are looking to focus on academics or athletics. While the school does offer strong programs for the arts, it seems to lack a deeper connection with students outside of those areas. There isn’t a strong emphasis on academics beyond the required major classes, and students who want to challenge themselves academically or prepare for college in a more well-rounded way might find it limiting. On top of that, athletics aren’t really a priority at this school, so it’s not the ideal place for student-athletes looking to grow and compete seriously. Overall, if your main focus is academics, athletics, or a school that builds strong student-teacher relationships across all subjects, Milwaukee School of the Arts may not be the best fit.

We have been part of French Immersion for 6 years now and it has been a great school for my family. My 3 kids are speaking French and enjoy it tremendously! We value this school in many ways. I only have good things to say about my experience here. If you are looking for a school with fantastic teachers, great after school programs, and parent involvement, this is the place for you.

One of the worse schools in Milwaukee. If your kids are able to enroll elsewhere, please do!

We love this school! Daughter fully engaged and participatory. Good communication from teachers, though more on an as needed basis. Often encourage parent involvement. Many fun activities outside of regular school day. Camp program before and after school is well loved by our daughter!

My child went to this school he showed told me proof of a teacher targeting him for being black things were blamed on him, that he didn’t do it and the kids that bullied kids never faced consequences unprofessional staff either teachers would joke around with students about other kids, slick remarks, etc Morale of the story don’t go to this school
