Posted by a community member on 3/8/2017My son attends Starms Early Childhood (k4)and since it wasn't even on here I decided to comment here. I really luv the school. Staff (both in and out of office) r amazing, loving, caring, patient, friendly, and honestly my list can go on and on. My son learned so much from that school. Their teaching methods r basic yet extremely effective... I will miss yall...(tear drop)

My son is seven in the 2nd grade, Before Starms he has attended SDC, Mary McCloud Bethume Academy, 81st street, and Goodrich. I c=moved him so many times because I didn't feel he was getting the attention, service, and respect he deserved as a special needs student. He has ADHD and was behind in all subjects. Since starting at starms in 8.2009, he is on level for reading, dramatically improved in writing, and taking the necessary steps to improve in Math. Socially he has grown and his attitude toward school and learning has done a complete 360. I love the teachers and the atmoshphere at this school. I also like that they have family classrooms where two different grades levels are combined but separate. Additionally, there's four teachers per family with one who specializes on special education, which in my case is so awesome. I would highly recommend this school U!

I love this school! My son started this year. He was reading on level and with in a couple of months he was on level. His writing has always improved. They are great and this is the first school my son has liked.

The culture of the school is one that make students want to come to school and makes parents feel welcome in inquiring about their child academic needs. The principal is approachable and has a pulse for the communities needs. The many partnerships of the school also support the great need for resources that support student learning as well as cultural supports. 1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagejust nowThis school has a excellent staff a awesome principal. There is so much love and care for children. My child has autism and couldn't speak or have a verbal response with. They taught her how to talk and proper talk at that. She can read and write and write with her left hand she is left handed. She can hold a conversation with me and express herself emotionally and physically. She can walk with better awareness. She can remember so many things and can be taught anything. She didn't even want to go back to school from a previous school incident. Now she has been going to Brown street academy for 5 years now and is still advancing. This school deserves an award.Parent Review5y ago - Metcalfe School
