What Locals Say about Newton Booth

  • Ben
"This is one of the most truly livable neighborhoods in Midtown. It's walkable to more than just restaurants and bars, but grocery stores, pharmacies and a Post Office--the spots you really need for your everyday life. Most of the neighborhood is just far enough from retail corridors that the parking is ample and there are few disturbances. If you've lived in the grid for 10 years and want to put down roots, this should be top of your list."
  • Bianca D.
"Lots of small animals in the area. I’ve seen raccoons, opossum, and mice/rats. Stray cats everywhere. Dog owners may like the neighborhood in the day, however. Lots of big trees for shade and plenty of sidewalk."
  • Samantha
"It’s far enough from bars to avoid chaos but close enough if you don’t mind a solid 10 block walk. There are also two grocery stores in less than a mile. "
  • Alexandra C.
"I’ve lived here for 6 years and love all the friendly neighbors and beautiful tree lined streets. It’s close to groceries food shopping and nightlife. You don’t need s car and it’s a safe place for bike riding "
  • Chateaucheveuxsalon
"Midtown charm but close to freeways and the co op. Lined with beautiful trees, stunning in fall and spring. "
  • Tyler N.
"Quiet neighborhood that’s walking distance to many essential places but far enough from the clubbing crowd. "

Temple Coffee & Revolution Wine Bar are 2 blocks down S St. The Sacramento Co-op is another block on the other side of the Capital Freeway. The R Street Corridor w light rail transport downtown & to Amtrack is 3 blocks away. "
