What Locals Say about Land Park

  • Trulia User
"I moved back to this Neighborhood more then 2 years ago and love it. It has a lot of trees and very walkable, close to good schools and restaurants and a lot more…."
  • Trulia User
"Land Park is a dog lover’s community. People walk their best friend in the morning and night. The Broadway area does have problems with crime and homeliness/drug issues. A dog makes it that much safer. "
  • Trulia User
"Area has the largest park in sacramento, schools are excellent near great restaurants and very walkable and good for biking "
  • Trulia User
"Close to mid town, close to parks, close to the delta, very central, safe, nice big trees for shade in the summer"
  • Mieninterpreter
"Park, zoo, food trucks, golf, nice neighbors, friendly folks, real neighbors, coffee shops, ice cream shops "
  • Spoonfullofjenni
"Commute to downtown is bike-able. Commute to surrounding areas also pretty easy. Access to multiple freeways, instead of being stuck with one corridor. "
  • Brian C.
"Big city feel with family oriented neighbors. Schools are great. Local shopping is supported by most people leaving in the area. Farm to fork is no joke. "
  • B.ikeda9009
"There are always people out and about in public and at the parks with their animals. We do tend to get raccoons and possums with the occasional skunk in the Land Park area depending on how close you are to the river access. "
  • B.ikeda9009
"There are many families here, with many more coming in. There are many parks with plenty of space to play or picnic. The park rangers keep area well kept, but in occasions you will find a homeless person hanging about. There is also plenty of places to visit like the Zoo and Funderland. "
  • B.ikeda9009
"The price of homes is increasing, the cost of living is increasing, the homeless population is growing and becoming out of control, the crime rates have increased drastically over the last few years. The city could do more to keep it clean. If you are going to order packages and have them delivered to your home, it is highly suggested that you get a security camera or some sort of device to lock them up."
  • Bfippin@yahoo.com
"Land Park is quintessential Sacramento. Few neighborhoods in the country with the charm of Land Park."
  • Nancy S.
"Been here for nearly 20 years and doubt there’s a better mountain town in the country than this one. Tourists here are the worst though and don’t respect our area "
  • steven b.
"We have lived in Land Park for 2 years. The tree-lined streets and friendly neighbors, with walking distance to the wonderful William Land Park, restaurants and stores make this a great place to live."
  • Kinsley E.
"Land Park has some of the tallest and shadiest trees in the city. The homes are eclectic but well cared for. When people move here, they tend to stay. Neighbors know and look out for each other, so it feels like a genuine community."
  • "An eclectic neighborhood that is both socially progressive and fiscally conservatiive, Land Park is one of the BEST places to reside in Sacramento, CA. I have lived in Sacramento for 30 years; I formerly resided in a 2-story Tudor (another famed neighborhood called East in Sacramento's Fabulous Forties) and can share that both have their advantages, however, I needed a one-story to accommodate my elder parent needing to move in with us. Land Park fit the bill for accessible housing options in a great, safe setting for all of us! We can walk to a wonderful neighborhood market (Sprouts), the Park and a decent 9-hole golf course. The kids can walk safely to great schools from Kindergarten through Junior College, head for the zoo, play soccer or little league around the corner! Additonally, we are not "land-locked" like some neighborhoods (like Carmichael). Land Park residents can easily access five (I-5, Hwy 99, Hwy 160, Hwy 50 and Hwy 80) major Freeways and Highways within one mile of our residence! This access alone has saved us time and frustration getting around to work and to play. Finally, being able to WALK to an iconic, indenpendent Theatre (the Tower Theatre) and eccletic restaurants & Brew pubs in the most culturally diverse community in the United States (according to Time Magazine) is a real treat and joy. We enjoy neighborhood pride without HOAs or artificial walls to lock "others" out; working collaboratively with an active neighborhood association and neighborhood social media, we keep each other safe and watch out for each other. Every 4th of July, we close down a street to watch our kids participate in a neighborhood parade and share in our good fortune to live in the community of Land Park. We love it here and never want to leave!"
