Read what parents are saying about North Middle SchoolMy daughter attends this school. They’ve gotten a new principal and some new faces in the office that have made a huge improvement at the school this year. Last year fights were very prevalent, seemed like they occurred daily. This year, they are few and far between. There have been a few new rules that I believe have helped with this. Alot of the teachers are just amazing- welcoming extra help for students when needed at lunch or after school. Some of the teachers are really communicative, sending text /or email communication with upcoming test or big assignment due dates to keep parents involved. I would recommend this school!
Posted by a parent on 3/2/2024I gotta say, North Middle School has been absolutely awesome for my kid. The teachers and staff are so caring and dedicated, making sure the students excel both academically and emotionally. The curriculum is well-rounded, and the facilities are top-notch. But what really sets it apart is the sense of community they foster. It's like a big family where everyone feels supported and valued. They've exceeded all my expectations!
Posted by a parent on 9/24/2023I am a student and really like north. There are problems but every school has problems.
Posted by a student on 6/14/2022They had harassed students with their very strict rules to students. They had sent my child to detention for showing a shoulder. They would give students detention for holding hands or touching others like a high five. I do not recommend this school if you want a good child.
Posted by a parent on 3/30/2022I go to this school and i love it a lot. the teachers teach me so much and are very helpful even when their having a bad day going to the new north makes me want to go to school I love it here and I'm very thankful for all the diversity and fun there is here.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTerrible my son has been attending three years with this one. I feel alone with the lack of consistency with helping my child grow as an individual. The principal has twice not followed through with plans put in place to better my child's education, self respect and attitude towards himself and others. She knew the importance of following through with the plan put in place by the assistant superintendent to help my child succeed as a student and yet she instead dropped it saying she thought it expired.Parent Review6y ago - Hawthorne Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, my experience with Jackson Elementary School has been exceptionally positive. From the moment my son entered the school, he was greeted with a warm and nurturing environment. The teachers and staff are dedicated and go above and beyond to ensure the success and well-being of every student. The curriculum is well-designed, offering a diverse range of subjects and extracurricular activities. The sense of community at Jackson Elementary School is strong, and I am impressed by the involvement of parents and the inclusive atmosphere. I made the right choice by enrolling my son in Jackson Elementary School.Parent Review7mo ago - Lowell Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your child is neurotypical, this is a nice school, though when you don't have money for art supplies but end the year with a $9k cushion, I'm not sure how that works out, what with maths not mathing.Otherwise, prepare to have your child belittled -- not by their teacher, but by the administration's actions. They do NOT want neurodivergent kids in this school for some reason and will do everything in their power to shove these kids off on another school outside the neighborhood, and away from that child's friend group. From what I've seen firsthand and heard from other parents of neurodivergent students, the runbook goes like this:1. Do not stick to established and agreed-upon IEP interventions. Do not offer the child alternative strategies to deal with overstimulation.2. Make sure the child knows they've been Very Bad today instead of helping them learn how to self-regulate.3. In IEP meetings, gaslight the parents and insist they've done all they can for the child.4. Insist the child just needs to go to a school with a program better suited for their needs instead of giving the child the time and attention they need in the special ed classroom, sticking with strategies that have worked in the past, and working with parents instead of against us.To be very honest, the problem is at the top. The teachers are fantastic and seem to be hamstrung by policies, and comments during IEP meetings make it very clear who in the administration is driving this. I'm speaking from personal experience, but I've heard these same experiences echoed from other parents. This isn't a one-off. This is a trend.Other Review1mo ago - Whittier Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is my son’s first year at Whittier and I have really seen him thrive compared to where he spent his kindergarten year. I absolutely love the staff and his teacher. My 5 year old will be starting at Whittier for kindergarten next near and couldn’t be more pleased. This is hands down the best school in the area by far! On the first day of school when I picked my son up he said “mom there’s like absolutely NO bullies at this school!” and I was SO thankful to hear him say that. I recommend this school to everyone.Parent Review1y ago - Everett Christian School
