St. Francis Xavier School

my kids really enjoy school and their teachers at RMCS. They are excited about learning, going to school, and trying new things. We're thankful for the teachers at RMCS.

I have two kids at JFK and we love it. The teachers and staff are all so welcoming and caring to all the kids and the school itself is beautiful and very thoughtfully set up thanks to the renovations. They do a great job at tailoring the experience for kids with break out sessions based on what kids need (enrichment, extra support, etc). When my kid wanted more challenging work, the teacher came up with some extra projects that were super fun. Overall we've found it to be a welcoming, responsive, creative place.

Probably an okay school if your child doesn't have a disability and/or isn't gifted. In my family's experience, the school does not support my child with a physical disability and does not challenge them or acknowledge their other gifted areas. If your child has a disability, know that you may need to fight the school at every step of the way. I would recommend not trusting that they are providing support and doing regular check ins with the teacher/school.No parking, let alone for a child and/or parent with a disability (one parallel "handicap" parking space without access to get a chair out, and that a staff member parks in). Had to carry my child down the street to get to and from school too many times.The one bright spot at this school is one of the Kindergarten teachers (Mrs. Blair) who is a gem.

We really enjoyed our time at Edmunds. Its nurturing, cheerful environment and small close knight community are a great combination.

Our daughter is in her 3rd year at IAA and we all feel that it's a great fit for her. The teachers are all very caring and creative. The school takes any issues that are important to you as a parent or important to the child seriously and works jointly to resolve any concerns/issues. The PTO is highly engaged and comes up with wonderful events for the students and families throughout the school year. We have schools that are closer to our home, but this school continues to impress us. The focus is on integrated the arts (music, dance, visual arts, drama and creative writing) in to all disciplines of learning. The students are given the opportunity to move, interact with their peers and be creative all day. If your child likes to focus quietly on a project, there is time for that as well. The Monday and Friday full school gatherings are a wonderful example of the school's energy and definitely check those out when considering this school for your child.

ICS is a hidden gem! It provides the best education I know of in this area. This school offers a very high level academic curriculum in a caring atmosphere. Academics are rigorous, but taught in a way that engages students so that they own their own learning, which lets them enjoy it. Students gain independence but also learn how to collaborate effectively. The faculty is second to none. The student body is very diverse. We feel so lucky that we found this wonderful school for our daughter
