Tomas High School

I went to pick up my niece and i forgot my sign and when i told them that i was on the emergency contact list they said they still couldn't give me a sign but they gave my brother in law a sign even thoe he wasnt on the emergency contact list . Hes white im mexican and i never pull the race card but the way the teachers were looking at me and asked my neice if she knew me felt like they were racially profiling me . its just crazy to me how these people can give someone a sign to pick up a kid from the school and they arent even on the emergency list but when a brown man ask for it they have a problem .

I am deeply disappointed and concerned about the way my child has been treated at the school, particularly in my interactions with one of the Kindergarten teachers and the Vice Principal. Based on what I have observed and experienced, I believe some of the actions and responses toward my child have lacked the level of empathy, fairness, sensitivity, and professionalism that I would expect from educators entrusted with the care and development of young children.I was especially disappointed by my interactions and conversations with the Vice Principal. Although my initial impression was positive, subsequent discussions left me seriously concerned about the level of understanding, compassion, and sound judgment being demonstrated when dealing with issues involving my child. Leadership in an educational environment should go beyond exercising authority; it should also reflect emotional intelligence, fairness, patience, and an understanding of the social and developmental needs of children.I am also concerned about how authority and decision-making appear to be exercised within the school. Decisions affecting a child should not rest solely with an individual teacher or Vice Principal without appropriate oversight, accountability, and an opportunity for parents to be heard. There should be proper checks and balances to ensure that decisions are fair, transparent, and always made in the best interests of the child. As a parent, I expect my child to be treated with dignity, compassion, fairness, and respect. I am extremely disappointed that my experience with the school has caused me to question whether those basic expectations are being consistently upheld.

We have been at Stanley since it has opened! I have a daughter that has gone through the entire system of Stanley, SLJH and then SLHS and now have kids currently at Stanley. This school has been so good for our kids and their education has thrived here. Teachers genuinely care about the kids and having one that is 504 he has been through the sped program and has done amazing and has placed master level on the staar test! Kids are sweet and lots of parent involvement with volunteering and thriving PTA! This is a great school!

We have been part of this community for over 10 years. We are very happy to be here. Highly recommend.
