Read what parents are saying about Field Middle Schoolthis school is alr but the kids r very rude and are very racist, no teachers will do anything about it. the teachers are mostly annoying but not rude or anything, just don’t go here if you’re sensitive

Posted by a community member on 3/7/2024They do not care if your student is being bullied or not. Even worse when done by a teacher.
Posted by a parent on 10/31/2022We are finishing up our 3rd year at Field as we get ready to enter high school next year. We have had 2 principals, both of whom put students first and look at the whole child. While helping students close the achievement gap is important to them, social-emotional learning is equally important. Because many students in this attendance zone don't have insurance, the school has provided a clinic that includes dental and vision assistance along with health assistance. The communication from the school is excellent. Our student was remote this year due to Covid, and though remote is not the ideal learning situations for him, his teachers provided lots of way for students to connect to them and the rest of the class. They stayed in close touch, letting us know what needed to be done and providing grace when needed. The band program is excellent, preparation for the METSA (STEM) academy at the high school was top notch, and our student is feeling confident heading to ninth grade in a few months. A 4/10 rating for this school is extremely misleading, based mostly on scores for the STAAR test, which is unfair to schools that provide not only academic excellence, but many other supports as well.
Posted by a parent on 3/2/2021My experience as a parent at Vivian Field has more than exceeded my expectations. Middle School in general has a negative reputation and I was on guard as my child entered 6th grade last year. Boy was I quickly proven wrong! The administration truly welcomes you into the building and takes a vested interest in the success of your child. I agree with a previous statement about staff giving 110%. There is a passion in the building for middle schoolers and I believe this passion starts from the top and works it's way down through the entire building. Mrs. Jiminez has done a fantastic job of inspiring her staff to bring a passion into the classroom each day. My daughter loved her first year, she felt respected, challenged and cared for by the staff.I am looking forward to the continued growth at Vivian Field including the expansion of parent education classes, more family events and an increase in PTA involvement.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot a good experience with this school at all. Aside from the fact that the school is not very diverse, they don’t have the experience, teacher tenure, nor accessibility to programs experienced teachers to help the students accelerate. Instead of offering support, intervention and effective tools to students with trouble learning, (which if you look at the data is more than half of the school and they fall below state level on most, if not all categories) they offer a patternless, inefficient “small group” within the same classroom as the teachers that have been ineffective. When that doesn’t work the response is typically “they child isn’t responding to our EXCELLENT interventions so there MUST be some sort learning disability can we test your child”?Instead of recognizing the fact that the entire school is falling behind in several different areas and that major adjustments need to be made with staffing and resources, they would rather leave the students behind which leads to low test scores, low progression and retention. Until the person(s) in charge advocate for the children and give them the resources and support they need to make improvements, this school and MOST IMPORTANTLY the students will continue to fall behind. Get your child out before it’s too late.Parent Review4y ago - Mclaughlin Strickland Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI as a grandparent have had the best experience in overall the education for my grand kids. I've had 3 grand kids graduated from Arbor Creek into public school and into gifted and talented program. The foundation in education started here at Arbor Creek Montessori. Could have ask for a better school. Staff are very professional family oriented. Communication and concerns on students is a big plus from teachers and the director. I am a very happy grandmother to have had my grand kids attend Arbor Creek Montessori.Parent Review1y ago
