Carrollton Elementary School

Our experience at this school has been disappointing. Bullying is a significant issue, and the response often feels unsupportive toward the student being targeted. There is a stronger focus on enforcing uniforms than on addressing student wellbeing.The handbook policies are not applied consistently, and it can sometimes feel as though certain families are treated more favorably than others. Communication with parents is limited, and school events are not always well organized.In our opinion, this environment does not prioritize the best interests of all students equally. Families considering enrollment may want to carefully evaluate whether this school aligns with their expectations for safety, fairness, and communication.

We transferred districts so our child could join the LEAP program at Good Elementary, and it has exceeded every expectation. LEAP is a self-contained program for exceptionally gifted students, offering curriculum acceleration by two grade levels while keeping learners with same-age peers. The teachers truly understand both the academic and social-emotional needs of gifted children, which makes a tremendous difference.The LEAP community is welcoming, supportive, and very close-knit. Families are involved and invested, and the environment feels like a safe harbor where bright children can be themselves and learn at the pace they need.This was the first year the program moved to this campus, and the administration and staff handled the transition with impressive care and communication. Their support made the change smooth for everyone.Programs like LEAP are rare, and they make an enormous impact. We’re grateful to be part of a school that challenges gifted learners academically while supporting their emotional growth. Highly recommended for families seeking a true home for their highly gifted child.

We discovered Arborcreek before our oldest child was born. My wife was raised in a Montessori environment and wanted the same for our kids. We toured many of the Montessori schools in Dallas and settled on Arborcreek due to the feel of the school, the warmth of the program and the adherence to the Montessori principles. That was 7 years ago and we are so happy with the decision that we made.Sima, the teachers and the staff are truly incredible. The care and attention that they give each child is tremendous. Through early childhood, we found them to be our partners in trying to make sure our kids were hitting the milestones that they should and were getting the social, emotional, and academic tools that they needed. Our 3 children each started in the infant room and their experience at Arborcreek is a big part of who they are now. We made a difficult decision as our kids got older to move to a school closer to our house. We kept our youngest at Arborcreek in spite of the commute as we love the school so much.You will read a common thread in the review...Arborcreek is a gem of a school. It interesting because that is how I typically describe it to our friends. It truly is a gem.

Last year, our13 year old attended this school, and this year, our 10 year old is joining. I could not be more grateful and impressed with the staff, curriculum and overall culture of this school. We are a Christian family, and all values taught here align with what we teach our children at home. The kids and staff are kind, and there are high expectations on good behavior and good manners.This school helps form the whole child, not just the academic side. Our older child jumped 50 points on standardized testing in just one year, after a public school education which is very highly ranked. I think this speaks volumes to how much Oak Crest helps the child by having them master material before moving to the next unit in their math/reading. Oak Crest is an exceptional education, and worth every penny. Our oldest hated school before starting here, especially math and reading , but now loves both subjects.There is confidence in math, and now enjoyment in mastering new levels! Both kids love learning now, and I know this education is setting them up for success in high school, college, and as lifelong learners.This school is diverse ethnically and religiously, even with a small size. This school has transformed my child academically and socially. We are so grateful!
