The environment is so welcoming and I feel genuinely appreciated here. Oakridge grows more and more every year and prioritizes student input. This is a school of opportunity and family.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe were having way too many issues with the school and my daughter’s behaviors were getting worse. An Assistant grabbed my autistic child’s arm one day and then my final straw was someone from the school told my husband we should start spanking her. I had to report the school to the TEA and the principal's first suggestion, at my child’s ARD Meeting, was to transfer my daughter to a new school, not what they could do to remedy it. They clearly wanted to get rid of my child and not help her. When I asked my daughter why she was being bad, her reason was, “I’m a bad kid”, so the teachers and assistants were telling my 6 year old, autistic child that she was a bad kid. After discussing with family and my daughter’s School Advocate/Social Worker, we decided to pull her from the school and homeschool her. The social worker even said it sounds like a Civil Liberties issue with the school. Administration is thoughtful and available to assist if any issues arise. Outstanding communication from school leaders! The PTA is always hard at work to support the teachers and administration. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kiddo constantly got bullied by some first grade teachers. Consequently, when my child spoke up, my child would be reprehended. This school needs to be investigated. By far this was the worst experience for my child. Causing my child a great deal of anxiety and sadness. Due to all the mistreatment at this school. Unfortunately, principles here at this school cover up. Worst school, not sure if it was a color of my child skin, race or being a single parent, and not able to be at the school every day.
