I do feel that some teacher in lower levels give an exuberant amount of homework as in 10 page packets and it is not modified if you have a student with modifications in place. I do
Posted by a parent on 1/8/2020I grew up in East Handley Elementary and both my kids went there and my nephew currently attends there too. Love this school definently the best on the eastside and the teachers are awesome working with the parents. I would highly recommend this school.
Posted by a parent on 5/10/2013dosent handle the bully situation the way it needs to be handled. the last two years my daughter has been bullied by the same person and all the school does is sit down and have lunch with the kids. n e ways my daughters bully probelm isn't any better it's worse.
Posted by a parent on 4/4/2011This is the greatest School on the East side of Fort Worth. My daughter has gone here for two years.The teachers and the principle Mrs. Hill and all the staff are so awsome.This will be her last year here.If you 'll looking for a good Elementary School this is it.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe were having way too many issues with the school and my daughter’s behaviors were getting worse. An Assistant grabbed my autistic child’s arm one day and then my final straw was someone from the school told my husband we should start spanking her. I had to report the school to the TEA and the principal's first suggestion, at my child’s ARD Meeting, was to transfer my daughter to a new school, not what they could do to remedy it. They clearly wanted to get rid of my child and not help her. When I asked my daughter why she was being bad, her reason was, “I’m a bad kid”, so the teachers and assistants were telling my 6 year old, autistic child that she was a bad kid. After discussing with family and my daughter’s School Advocate/Social Worker, we decided to pull her from the school and homeschool her. The social worker even said it sounds like a Civil Liberties issue with the school. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhitewashed history starting in 4th grade. There is little racial education in this school. Keep in mind that this school is also extremely racially stratified. Maybe 10% of the kids are non-white. (This is mainly due to SES racial distribution in general) but that 10% is not represented in the curriculum. You can expect to hear slurs and there be no recourse. This school has a race problem, in that it prefers to be color blind. Also their Native American studies in lower school are extremely insensitive. You learn how to throw a tomahawk from a white dude wearing deer hide, but not about the trail of tears or the Dawes Act.
