9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have four children and they have all attended Carnegie. I’ve seen many teachers come and go over the years at this school but some core ones have remained and that seems to set a higher bar for new hires compared to most schools. This school attracts good teachers that care about kids. The culture is one of learning and discipline problems and any bullying is addressed swiftly. It really is a peaceful atmosphere for an elementary school and kids who behave are the norm. Kindergarten and first grade teams are phenomenal.Parent Review3y ago8 Reviews - Key Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSalk Elementary has caring teachers and staff who genuinely want students to succeed. The principal does a great job leading the school and creating a positive environment for students, parents, and staff. You can tell there is real effort put into making students feel supported, safe, and encouraged to do their best. The school creates a welcoming environment where kids from different backgrounds can learn together and build friendships. Many of the teachers go out of their way to help students academically and personally, and it’s clear the staff truly cares about the children and the community. Salk is an important part of Tulsa and deserves recognition for the hard work its educators and leadership put in every day.Other Review1mo ago14 Reviews - Grissom Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am writing this review because we had such a negative experience at MHPS. One of the Kindergarten teachers singled out my child and was incredibly mean to them. Years after going to this school, my child still has PTSD from their time with the teacher who fractured their self confidence. Yesterday, out of nowhere they mentioned that they did not understand why this teacher was nice to everyone but them. We could not get them away from this teacher fast enough but unfortunately other schools were full and my child had to wait out the rest of the school year with her. The other teachers in other grades were fantastic but this teacher was truly the cause of nightmares for my KINDERGARTNER. The teacher doted on the other children in the class but singled out mine. Crazy stuff like believing other children without doing due diligence to find out who was telling the truth, favoring certain children but super strict with mine, rewarding children that were advanced, inadvertently punishing kids that were not as fast. Putting pressure on the kids to get through the work as quickly as possible for the sake of test scores and alienating the ones that couldn’t keep up. For my child, this teacher was the leader of the mean girl pack, every bad teacher rolled into one. We were shocked and heartbroken that my child went from a loving experience in younger classes to this super strict setting just the next year. Even worse, the teacher never communicated anything that may be going on and she did not know my child (even in a small class setting,) writing in their report card for several quarters that they couldn’t tie their shoes even though they were tying them in double knots every morning. If I could give a negative star review I would. Shame on any “educator” that treats young children like this. I will never understand why the teacher did not move my child to a different classroom if she did not like them which is such a crazy thing to say about a teacher entrusted with young children. I worry about other children that this teacher may have done this to.Parent Review10mo ago4 Reviews - Peace Academy

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhere do I even begin.....my sons experience at Dove has been absolutely atrocious. I cant even write a google review as they have turned off reviews if that tells you anything. My son attended Dove School of Discovery for Pre-K and Kindergarten. First I will say his experience with Pre-K was amazing, he LOVED his teacher and we loved her! This review is based on his Kindergarten experience, as Pre-K was wonderful. From day 1 of Kindergarten it has been hell, the teacher was completely incompetent and have no idea how to manage a classroom or set realistic expectations. My son who is 6 was punished with recess being taken away for not sitting still. The teacher had a pizza party at one point and actively kept other students who she deemed as "BAD" out of pizza party. that's right, she had a pizza party with kindergarteners and left students out of it., My Son told me he felt so bad because he got pizza and other students didn't. the teacher yelled at the students and got 2 inches from their face on a field trip and told them to stop being annoying. The teacher completely ignored when a student in her classroom was being bullied while she sat on the bench on her phone. I know all of this because I volunteered to attend a field trip as a chaperone and witnessed all of this. My son was punched in the face and no one told me until after the fact, my son came out of the school crying. My son was not allowed to use the bathroom even after asking several times and he ended up soiling his pants, the class laughed at him and the teacher did nothing. The teacher regularly mixed up my son with other students and sent home their work, their personal information regarding their growth and even sent messages regarding another students behaviors to my families group chat mistaking our family for another. The teacher in my sons class did not have one nice thing to say about my son the entire school year, though he excelled in many areas. She only contacted us to tell us when something was wrong. Even during parent teacher conferences not once did she say a kind thing about him. My son is traumatized from his experience at Dove and we wont even be having him finish out his last week of school. We cannot wait to get him out!Parent Review1y ago12 Reviews
