Yeshivah of Crown Heights

This school is run by incompetent unprofessional individuals. Starting with the principal. She demonstrates and practices racism as well as lack of responsible leadership.

Both of my daughters attend PS 236 and I have to say that I am so happy with the quality of education, support from teachers and staff and the amount of family engagement and invitations to participate in events. The PTA is also very active and is both transparent and inclusive. In my time at the school I’ve only had one negative encounter and it was with a parent not a staff member or administrator.

My mom was a lunch aide at this school for almost 20 years and my daughter has been going here since Pre-K. My mom passed in 2018 and my daughter begged me to keep her enrolled here because she felt "safe". Worst decision of my life. My moms personal belongings from her locker went missing. We were promised support and therapy for my daughter - never happened. Staff members would continuously ask her about my mom when she asked them not to. She's been bullied. This year being her last year there her classroom or my sons classroom was constantly closed due to COVID. My infant son ended up in ICU after contracting it from his sister. Then shortly after this past April/May she was ICU and what does the caring staff do - call ACS. Upon her return to school she calls me from the bathroom crying saying a lot of the teachers including the assistant principal aren't speaking to her. My daughter is very well known at this school so she took this very personal. This school has went downhill ever since Ms Esposito left. The new principal does nothing for the children, doesn't engage with families and the school is just a mess. Avoid sending your child here if you can.

Two of my kids went to this school. Had great experiences and the teachers and principal were very involved. They learned a lot while attending and they always provided activities for parents to participate and be involved in school and afterschool activities

I am so grateful I found this school because it is simply an incredible early education school. The teachers at this school are strong and knowledgeable. They really support the kids' educational journey. They have a joyful community as well. They celebrate all the various holidays with parades and family engagement and the teachers and staff always get involve with the fun! There was a snafu with my daughter's prior school and when I contacted the principal, Ms. Fontanelli, her email led me to believe that this was the school for her. She was so warm and welcoming and let me know if I needed anything that she was simply an email or phone call away and her staff also will be happy to help me. And of course, when I went to register, that was exactly the case.My daughter comes home saying how much she loves school. I wish this school went to 5th grade (it goes from 3K-2nd grade) because I would have transferred my son immediately. If you are looking for a strong academic and fun community school, PS 326 is the one!

My child did not enjoy his experience at this school. He has been telling me to take him out for years but I insisted on him waiting till 8th grade finishes. I should have listened to him, even on trips he couldn’t enjoy himself, since now it’s a privilege to sit next to your friends. The only reason my child had any reason to want to stay at this wretched school is because he loves his friends and didn’t want to leave them.
