Read what parents are saying about Ps 236 Mill BasinMy daughter finished six years at this school. The teachers here are very kind to my child, nurturing her expertise, giving her good plans and achievements. The school environment is very clean .Beautiful school yard.
Posted by a parent on 1/6/2022I was always excited about my kids going to this school especially since it is in our district. Although we were warned by our after-school program coordinator that it is a racist school, I still enrolled my child there. However, I soon realized that they offer preferential treatment to those they would “like” to represent their school. Do your research and maybe talk to other parents before enrolling here. It may do more harm than good if your child is not of the right complexion or your family is not of the preferred economic status.
Posted by a parent on 4/16/20205 Stars - my son started in Kindergarten, his teacher who is no longer there was very good, kind and compassionate. This is said for many reasons. I read may frustration reviews about the parent coordinator but I personally have never experienced such before of a different race. Mr. Paingankar has made phenomenal strides, leaps and bounds at this school. When my son started at this school, they had an 8/10 score and it's not 9/10 which tells you something. Originally yes, when I applied at the school there were some discrepancies from the office, however, after a visit to DOE and producing my sons G & T results, problem was solved. Thereafter, it has been great, my son continues to get high grades with the support of all his teachers and of course from home. I highly recommend this school. I love the NUT FREE zone, because my son is allergic and the NO TOLERANCE for bullying. Just love it!!!
Posted by a parent on 9/5/2019The teachers are wonderful and encouraging, and my nephews - now in grades 3 and 4 - love 236. Their mother is very grateful for the caring staff. The boys get a lot of help from the staff and I know this compels them to do better and maintain their grades, and have both won the Lead By example award numerous times.

This is because I still go here and we need hall monitors because kids are bullying each other it's not fair to those who behave.Student Review4mo ago - Ps 312 Bergen Beach

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy mom was a lunch aide at this school for almost 20 years and my daughter has been going here since Pre-K. My mom passed in 2018 and my daughter begged me to keep her enrolled here because she felt "safe". Worst decision of my life. My moms personal belongings from her locker went missing. We were promised support and therapy for my daughter - never happened. Staff members would continuously ask her about my mom when she asked them not to. She's been bullied. This year being her last year there her classroom or my sons classroom was constantly closed due to COVID. My infant son ended up in ICU after contracting it from his sister. Then shortly after this past April/May she was ICU and what does the caring staff do - call ACS. Upon her return to school she calls me from the bathroom crying saying a lot of the teachers including the assistant principal aren't speaking to her. My daughter is very well known at this school so she took this very personal. This school has went downhill ever since Ms Esposito left. The new principal does nothing for the children, doesn't engage with families and the school is just a mess. Avoid sending your child here if you can.Parent Review1y ago - Ps 251 Paerdegat

They learned a lot while attending and they always provided activities for parents to participate and be involved in school and afterschool activitiesParent Review11mo ago - Ps 326

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageP.S. 326 is undoubtedly one of the top early childhood schools in NYC. From the the teachers and the principal, front office team, school counselor, nurses, security guards and overall staff, there is a strong sense of family. The special people who make this place genuinely care for the children and love the work they do - they go above and beyond to give your child a sense of belonging, all while engaging them in developing a passion for learning. The principal is unlike any I have ever witnessed (even as a child going through the NYC school system myself); she is very involved and pretty much knows every student by first name. She also stands outside to greet the students every morning! Our 3-K team was phenomenal, especially being this was the rollout year for 3-K (which happened to fall during the pandemic). The teachers developed a curriculum suitable for the age group and coordinated so many fun arts and crafts projects and other activities (e.g., dance classes, apple painting, introduction to careers, teeth brushing, gardening/planting, tours inside a fire truck and a garbage truck [they parked right outside the school!] and much more!). My son loved going to school every day, but most importantly he grew and learned so much. We're beyond grateful for this experience and for all of the love and hard work the P.S. 326 family puts in to making this institution a home away from home. Thank you!Parent Review1y ago - Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Academy
