My daughter started 6th grade here this year, and overall we’ve had a great experience. The staff is incredible—always eager to help and quick to respond. Posted by a parent on 10/22/2025My daughter was on the verge of committing suicide because of this school. They are extremely unwelcoming. Do not let the other reviews fool you. The discrimination between whites and colored is real. There is hardly any colored staff in the school, in fact most are either leaving or retiring early.

It's expected to get a little made fun of here and there because it's middle school but I actually got book checked, yelled at, called names to my face and one of the girls threatened to kill me. I

Unfortunately, the school often seems reactive rather than solution-based, and at times, communication lacks professionalism. Parents who raise questions or offer constructive feedback are too often met with silence or avoidance rather than open dialogue. I am also aware of at least one other parent who experienced a similar situation, where a meeting intended to “talk things out” became a one-sided exchange that left her feeling dismissed and blamed rather than heard.
