I have 2 children that attend Paun an my experience there has been great. my son was a little delayed when he first started school they took the time to help him an now he is just about ahead now. both of my children are doing great. The teachers an staff are amazing!!!
Posted by a parent on 7/28/2010Someone previously mentioned that the principal is "deeply involved" in this school. I seriously beg to differ. When my daughter was in 6th grade, her teacher became the acting principal whenever the principal left school property during school hours. HE WAS GONE ALL THE TIME and my daughter's class

Having my child questioned for accusing 2 classmates about an incident - in front of the accused and that child's parents AND grandparents -

well the thing about max paun is that it really isent the greatest school my daughter has been haveing trouble and everyone thinks this is the greatest school.....but its not the dress code is the next thing to a uniform and all of the teachers are not that greatt!!!

This school is horrible. It is more worried about losing numbers than the best interest of the students. I pulled my son out and transferred him to another school in the district and I have had no regrets! I guess you don't know what your missing until you leave! Too many split grade classes at Paun

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur child attends Lafayette as an out-of-district student. The school is about 15-20 minutes away from where we live and it's well worth the drive every day. Our child has a disability and our home district has extremely limited resources for special education. Since attending this year, our child has increased reading and math skills and is completing social and academic activities that we previously didn't know were possible. I believe this is due to the tremendous support from the dedicated staff and resources allocated to Lafayette. The teachers have been wonderful and we noticed right away the difference in attitudes promoting empathy and inclusion. Our experience this year has been outstanding and we plan on continuing with Lafayette and the Lincoln Park school district. I just wish every school district had the special education resources and inclusive attitudes that we've experienced here.Parent Review2y ago
