This school is a disgrace!! My daughter is in kindergarten and within the first month she gets LICE from her class , something my entire family have NEVER had our whole lives! It has not only disrupted our lives but my career has been put into jeopardy! Now the class has a case of FOOT and MOUTH!!!!! I’m disgusted !!! My family have never had to deal with such diseases!!! My daughter can not worrry about getting life threatening diseases and lice everyday of school! Then at home we are left dealing with it and I cannot work! The people working here are extremely RUDE and I find the school very unsafe/ bullies galore from the middle school down the block yelling at parents ! I had to contact the police when I was just picking up my 5 yr old! I will not put up with this!! The teachers don’t tell you anything and let’s just say it’s a very POOR school all around! I’ve never had to deal with any of these problems in my 32 yrs with an elementary school. Disgusting! It has ruined my career bec I am constantly dealing with lice or something else disgusting fromthis horrible school ! Shut it. Down!

Our child attends Lafayette as an out-of-district student. The school is about 15-20 minutes away from where we live and it's well worth the drive every day. Our child has a disability and our home district has extremely limited resources for special education. Since attending this year, our child has increased reading and math skills and is completing social and academic activities that we previously didn't know were possible. I believe this is due to the tremendous support from the dedicated staff and resources allocated to Lafayette. The teachers have been wonderful and we noticed right away the difference in attitudes promoting empathy and inclusion. Our experience this year has been outstanding and we plan on continuing with Lafayette and the Lincoln Park school district. I just wish every school district had the special education resources and inclusive attitudes that we've experienced here.

The school is great, the principal on the other hand is very ignorant. Her attitude towards parents of color is very lackluster and judgmental. She needs to be reeducated on her skill sets; for instance her communication, verbiage, and empathy.
