Wolfe Street Academy has been an excellent experience for our two children in 2016/17. Mr Gaither's active and hands-on leadership is very inspiring to students & parents alike. Ms Gross (3rd) & Ms Bucke (3rd) are amazing teachers who keep tabs on student's academic progress & wholesome development. The admin & support staff are welcoming and always helpful. There is an excellent (free) after school program. The kids are well behaved & friendly.The school does not have dedicated sports facilities but Mr Mavis makes good use of the multi-use hall for indoor sessions and the nearby Patterson Park is used for outdoor sports.It is unfortunate the hard-work of this great team is not reflected in the Test Scores due to the demographics of Fells Point, many of the students are from families that do not speak English as a first language.

My son was bullied, traumatized and physically abused at this school, and several teachers knew about everything he was put through and just turned a blind eye, and at one point even purposefully brushed an attack on my son under the rug and wasn't even going to call me and tell me. My son was verbally abused and threatened on a regular basis and at one point I finally had to call the police and file a report and remove my son from the school.Teachers are lazy, complacent, and just plain BAD at their jobs. Do not send your child to this school.

This year, Highlandtown 237 got a new principal. It’s been a nightmare for staff (and students) from the first day. He is verbally abusive, retaliatory to an extreme, petty, completely clueless about education, and seems to dislike children. This is the kind of principal that I thought only lived in a fictional realm. He is truly horrible. A lot of staff is leaving. Anyone considering taking their place should run far and fast.

The staff are incredibly friendly and work hard to ensure the needs of students and families are met. Systemic policies often interfere with early interventions initiated by classroom teachers.

Discrimination at it's worst; I had the highest of expectations when I entered the lottery for my neighborhood school; My son is special needs and had the worst experience one could imagine at PPPCS. He was excluded from recess, field trips and suspended many times because of his disability. My son has autism and the school was not equipped to handle his needs. If I had known this I would have never entered the lottery. Reading all the reviews and speaking to other parent's, I never imagined such a bias would exist for children with special needs, but it does. If your child is not "perfect" he/she will not do well at PPPCS, that was our experience, very sad. Children should not be discriminated against , you would think in this day, things would be better; NEVER TRUST A "BOOK" BY IT'S COVER.
