Read what parents are saying about St. Hilary SchoolSt Hilary School is an amazing school and a hidden gem in the North Park neighborhood. The school is warm and welcoming and very diverse. The Principal, Mrs. Kathie Donovan, is dynamic and incredibly engaged in every facet of the school's operations. We have been especially impressed by the music and art programs, which includes both band and choir. The teaching quality is superb, which is also supported by small class sizes and a great student-to-teacher ratio. Our son is in second grade, and we've been very happy with his teachers every year so far. Attention is also given to incorporating current thinking in pedagogy and curricula, and just last year they incorporated new flexible seating. Our son also attends aftercare, and he participates in the Super Soccer extracurricular program. Sports offerings include volleyball and basketball programs for girls and boys. The Family Student Association (FSA) plans regular activities and opportunities for engagement. Overall, Catholic/Christian teachings are evident especially in the spirit of kindness and service present in this school.
Posted by a parent on 10/3/2019St. Hilary has been a wonderful, warm and kind environment for our son who is in kindergarten. The class sizes are small and the teachers are caring and nurturing and supported by Mrs. Donovan, the school's dynamic principal.
Posted by a parent on 1/21/2018Our first year at St. Hilary has been fantastic! I'm so glad that we found the school and wish we could give them a million dollars because they do so much with every dollar they have, it would be fun to see what they could do with money for more services, training, programs, and teachers. The students, the families, and the staff at St. Hilary really do make you feel part of a family. Everyone pitches in together and everyone is treated equally. The academics are rigorous and expectations are high, and support is given to each student to help them reach their full potential and be happy. We love it here!
Posted by a parent on 7/17/2017Both my son and daughter attend St. Hilary and we have been highly impressed with the quality of the school. Small class sizes & family friendly atmosphere make this a rich, nurturing environment for our kids. Great neighborhood school, highly recommended to other families living in the Budlong Woods/Lincoln Square/North Park neighborhoods.
Posted by a parent on 1/26/2016My child has been enrolled in the preschool for the past two years and will be starting kindergarten there in the fall. She has grown so much in the time she's been there. The teachers are very caring and supportive. The preschoolers even get instruction from St. Hilary's art, music, gym, computer and Spanish teachers. I really like the faith partners program where my child was paired up with a fifth-grader, and they worked on special projects and attended Wednesday Masses throughout the year. I have spoken to parents of recent graduates, and their children go on to attend some of the best high schools in the area and feel prepared when they get there.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI did not enjoy my time at this school. Most of the teachers didn't make what they taught engaging in any way, I would end up failing classes because I would have no drive or motivation to do work for my classes. I thank my 7th and 8th grade english teachers for teaching engaging and informing curriculums that would actually stick outside of school. My social life was just as bad, I had to claw my way into social acceptance and would experience bullying from many different people frequently. The fighting was also terrible. I remember the grade not being able to get through graduation practice without fighting and there would also an obsession with drama in our grade. I've heard even worse stories from even older alum but mine still wasn't pretty.Other Review7mo ago - Clinton Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter started at St Philip when she was two. Eight years later I’m still thrilled with the education she receives. Learning should be joyful and St Philip definitely makes this happen. The teachers emphasize meaningful, exciting learning. This year she went to a week-long overnight outdoor education camp. Her class has ventured to a local park to explore simple machines in action on the playground. The whole school makes regular treks to the nearby nature center to explore anything from animal life to art in nature. These are the learning experiences she’ll remember for the rest of her life. St Philip is a small school where my child excels academically and socially. Every staff member knows my child and has a relationship with her. There’s an active parent network that plans multiple family events throughout the year. St Philip is a great place and I’m glad I chose it for my child.Parent Review4y ago - Northshore Adventist Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience over the past 7 years has been great. As the principal/7th & 8th grade home room teacher I have seen great improvement in the moral and academic performance of all the students. We have a four tier awards program: Principals’ List 3.8-4.0+, High Honor Roll 3.5-3.7.9, Honor Roll 3.0-3.49 and Honorable Mention. The majority of our students are in the top two tiers. We have now added the 9th - 12th grades. With 9th and 10th as traditional and the 11th and 12th in a virtual online classroom association with Atlanta Adventist Academy.NSAA is growing spiritually with sharing our faith in the community as well as students accepting Christ as their Lord and Savior.Teacher Review9mo ago
