6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI did not enjoy my time at this school. Most of the teachers didn't make what they taught engaging in any way, I would end up failing classes because I would have no drive or motivation to do work for my classes. I thank my 7th and 8th grade english teachers for teaching engaging and informing curriculums that would actually stick outside of school. My social life was just as bad, I had to claw my way into social acceptance and would experience bullying from many different people frequently. The fighting was also terrible. I remember the grade not being able to get through graduation practice without fighting and there would also an obsession with drama in our grade. I've heard even worse stories from even older alum but mine still wasn't pretty.Other Review7mo ago - Chappell Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDon’t trust what you read on Great Schools, their data for demographics is very out of date, more than 3 years old. They don’t keep this site up to date. This is a great school, I’m a parent of a student.Parent Review5mo ago - Jamieson Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMcPherson has been an exemplary school. Our son started in the preschool program and is currently in second grade. The teachers have really put their full effort into the kids, even with the enduring pandemic. The feedback with the parents has always been solid, both from the teachers and principal. I don't think the middling score reflects the changes that McPherson has undergone in the last few years with its academic strides and inclusivity.Parent Review2y ago - Rogers Park Montessori School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhy choose our school for your child? Please read about the efficacy of the Montessori method, about learning by doing, mixed age classrooms, and adaptable curriculums. I want to share why we happily chose Rogers Park Montessori School (RPMS) about 5 years ago. In our experience the faculty and staff are warm and knowledgeable about development, always approachable and happy to be their jobs. The extra training that our teachers receive is significant and noticeable. The teachers are really true educational guides at this school. They have given us keen observations over the three-year cycle and we really get to know each other to work to assist our child. We’ve found our classrooms and the campus to be beautiful. It’s a great location as a city school and it is tucked away for outdoor space and education. Yes, the student to teacher ratio is excellent. And the family community is involved and active. But our favorite thing about RPMS is that our children are both happy and are both thriving in the areas that are important to our family like academics, service, social grace and curiosity. We are so grateful that our two students can attend RPMS. I highly recommend meeting the admission staffer and learning more if you have any interest!Parent Review5mo ago - St. Hilary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved to the neighborhood with the intention of sending our three children to Waters Elementary. However, in Fall 2020, when our eldest was five and ready for kindergarten, Waters was offering zoom kindergarten, which we wanted to avoid at all costs. So we enrolled our daughter at Queen of Angels, which was open for in-person learning. She had a magical kindergarten year with Mrs. Thilmany--a storybook treasure of a kindergarten teacher--and we never looked back. Now we have all three at Queens and are grateful, in a way, that the CPS closures during Covid led us to discover this fantastic neighborhood school. Our experience shows that you don't need to be Catholic to benefit from the school's small class sizes, solid academics, super-engaged parent groups, and exposure to a religious tradition that brings so much beauty and history into the children's lives.Other Review10mo ago - St Philip Lutheran
