Read what parents are saying about Ashton Elementary SchoolMy child went to 1st grade in Lisa Schubauer’s class. The class had 21 kids, and the teacher was overwhelmed. Whenever I raised a concern, she often complained about having a crowded classroom. My observation and feedback I got from other parents indicated that she tends to favor certain kids and neglect others. My main issue was the language to which kids are exposed. I don’t think it is appropriate for 1st graders to learn about having crushes and cursing at such an early age. The school and the teacher should not allow this kind of language.
Posted by a parent on 2/8/2024They are acting as if this is a private school and posting on social media all the travels the teachers made during the summer. Principal sends an email saying how much she traveled all around. Not every parent can take their kids to expensive vacations. We worked all summer and sent our kids to camps. Some of us did not even take a vacation at all. Not all kids are from rich families. Some students are poor and barely making it. Why talk about all the expensive vacations everyone is taking? They need to remind people working in this school that this is a public school not a private school. They ask for drinks which is called fill the fridge. They will ask this a few times a year. Why? Why are we responsible for providing drinks for the school employees?
Posted by a parent on 8/6/2023The staff, administration, PTO, and families are amazing at this school. There are many opportunities for students to learn and grow. My child has thrived at this school. She has a disability and the staff has always been supportive of her needs.
Posted by a parent on 7/15/2023My girls love this school! They are currently in the gifted program and it’s all because of their Kindergarten teacher who recommended they get tested! My girls are thriving in first grade in this school and they absolutely love their teachers! As a matter of fact when we are released for breaks they cry for their teachers because they will miss them! Everyone is professional and friendly from the Principal down to the Janitor. I thought about sending my girls to Pineview in the 2nd grade but I changed my mind after seeing how happy my girls are at this school! Their favorite things are the after school activities! This school keeps your little ones busy! You can’t have idle kids at this school! As far as homework! My kids first grade teach teacher does not give homework because she trains and works her students hard at school and she feels like home should be their break from school! Also, I don’t even live in the district of this school. I choice into this school with only 5 slots available and I’m glad I got in! Best move I’ve made for my kids development! This is my honest review of this school!
Posted by a parent on 1/8/2023Where do I start.... Mean teachers. Only care about student test results so they can get their raises. Students tell substitutes how mean som teachers are. They will have a smear policy towards some kids and try to get them in so much trouble. Do your child a favor and do not move to this school zone. Find a school that your child won't be treated as a robot to score high in state exams. Terrible school...

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorking at the school was interesting. They’re the most unwelcoming when it comes to staff. Teachers and administrators. The assistant principal is LAZY! Many teachers are lazy as well when it comes to teaching and discipline. The office staff were a joke! It’s adult mean girls at this school and it’s embarrassing. I hope the staff can remember they’re serving children at the school not egos.Other Review2mo ago - Sarasota County Technical Institute

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo tired of this school. Was convinced it would be a good environment for my daughter but turned out to be one of the worst. Teachers show no support and are terribly lazy with their teaching for such an expensive school.Parent Review3mo ago - Hershorin Schiff Community Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn these challenging times, the school has proven to be a beacon of safety and reassurance for parents. Their commitment to continuous communication, relentless reevaluation of safety protocols, and consistent follow-through is nothing short of exemplary. What's more, the intimate class sizes foster deep connections between teachers and students; it's evident that the instructors know my children profoundly and individually. This nurturing atmosphere has been a cocoon of positivity, where my kids feel genuinely cherished and empowered. The environment is not just educationally stimulating but also emotionally positive.Seeing my children blossom into the best versions of themselves is a joy I attribute to the school's unwavering dedication. They haven't just taught my kids; they've helped them grow with love and confidence. For this, I am endlessly grateful.Parent Review5mo ago - West Florida Christian School
