Wilkinson Elementary School

Chose this school because my daughter is a former student and she really liked it. Applied through choice as this school is not in my district but I work close by. Apparently a truancy officer has to come verify your address if you are living with someone even after going through all of the trouble of getting an affidavit filled out and paying to have it notarized. The darn officer still hasn’t been to the house and school starts MONDAY. This is absolutely ridiculous. I apply for my son to attend a charter school and he was accepted and registered the same day without the extra nonsense.

My 8 year old was violently attacked on her bus by a boy who has been bullying her verbally for months without repercussions. The principle never even met with me. One out of the two children who hurt her still got to ride a school bus with her. They let bullying run wild in the halls. If it's not physical this school does not care. There are few teachers left here who actually care about the kids. Ms Shulman is not one of them. She made my daughter who is now diagnosed ADHD hate school and was a constant menace to her if she was not perfect.

During a recent school tour, I was concerned about the safety procedures. Visitors were allowed to enter the building and classrooms without ID verification or bag checks. This made me uncomfortable because school safety is extremely important for families.The staff member who led the tour explained that the person responsible for issuing visitor badges was absent that day. However, it was unclear why there was no alternative safety procedure in place. Allowing visitors to enter student areas without proper verification seems like a serious security risk.I believe Ashton Elementary is a well-known and respected school, which is why this situation was surprising. I hope the school reviews and strengthens its visitor security procedures to ensure student safety.

Great experience overall. Really nice small school. Very nice teachers. Lots of fresh air.

This nurturing atmosphere has been a cocoon of positivity, where my kids feel genuinely cherished and empowered. The environment is not just educationally stimulating but also emotionally positive.Seeing my children blossom into the best versions of themselves is a joy I attribute to the school's unwavering dedication. They haven't just taught my kids; they've helped them grow with love and confidence. For this, I am endlessly grateful.
