Read what parents are saying about Chatfield High SchoolHi a student that goes to chatfeild high school. The staff here at chatfieild highschool is extremely rude. They were rude to me for walking even i couldn't see i was trying to get a better view. I would not recomend this school at all. My last reason is because they alone got me in trouble the only black kid.
Posted by a parent on 2/8/2022Teacher development on differentiating and being creative with their instruction is vital. Unfortunately, there seems to be no imagination or real-world teaching involved (that takes work). Everything is copied from the internet with lots of busy-work not meaningful work. Sports are clicky not much room for kids who want to try different sports. Teachers have a difficult time responding to email from students and parent alike in a timely manner. Don’t be scared to advocate for your student..., you are the taxpayer receiving a public service and you deserve to have your concerns considered and timely respectful communication. I have some awful emails from a male math teacher at this school..., I am still debating if I show make them public on rate my professor and other platforms. One this is true his instruction videos are full of nonsensical music and timewasting humor (not really funny at all). This school could be better if more teachers understood that furthering their knowledge through high level classes on pedagogy, methodology, assessment, differentiating and using real world experiences to teach the subject. Also, please do not expect students to present ‘perfect’ work when your presentations, syllabus, and assignment directions a re littered with misspellings and typos.Oh…, and positive reinforcement and comments go a long way. Being rude and using negative or hyperbolic criticism is a No-No!
Posted by a parent on 8/14/2021We transferred over to Chatfield from Dakota Ridge due to my daughter having most of her friends going to Chafield (DR was an amazing school by the way). It was THE worst experience with education I have ever seen. The level of incompetence is astounding. In addition, the counselors do not response time to emails/call is unacceptable. Even after transferring back, we had multiple issues just getting them to transfer her transcript--it took months. I am serious, months. I would not recommend this high school to anyone
Posted by a parent on 8/3/2021My student had a great first year at High School. He enjoyed his classes and has grown both as a person and academically.
Posted by a parent on 6/26/2020Very much not great. If you are wealthy, you will have a different experience than I've had here. Teachers make it very clear that the parents they want involved are those with deep pockets. Every experience here has a price tag. The counselors are a joke...despite my kids asking for the needed classes, they both entered second semester of their senior year missing a required class. My younger child hasn't had a lunch or free period for his last two years. They talk a great game, but aren't actually going to DO anything.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMortensen has such a wonderful staff, both administrative and teaching. We absolutely love our school. My daughter's teachers have been top notch; so caring, knowledgeable, and fair. They are constantly seeking out how to better support their students and further their own education in order to better serve the kids. There are events throughout the year to bring the school community together, and we have gotten to know many other families. They have a diverse set of activities available for after school programs as well as field trips to broaden students' educational opportunities. We appreciate the autism program in our school and love to support their amazing theater program, which we look forward to being involved in once my daughter is old enough to do so! I highly recommend this elementary school!Parent Review1y ago - Stony Creek Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school overall. As is likely in any school, there are a few bad apple teachers that you have to be cautious of. As other has mentioned, PTA is definitely cliquey so it is harder as a parent to fit in when you’re not part of the “in crowd.”Parent Review2mo ago - Ute Meadows Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere were ups and downs in this school, but after I saw how this school dealt with bullying we decided to leave. My kiddo after that was afraid to talk about anything that happened in school "Please don't tell the principal anything!". That is not how I imagine the school administration should handle issues. A lot of great teachers I appreciate for support though, they have great attitudes towards academic success. Unfortunately, it's not enough for young kids.Other Review3mo ago - Montessori Peaks Charter Academy

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school was a game changer for our children, both of whom are on IEPs. While they didn't thrive in a traditional public school setting, they have been able to grow and shine here.Parent Review4mo ago - Colorow Elementary School
